The boxers weren't the only ones seeing stars last night.

Russell Crowe, Eva Longoria Parker, Mario Lopez, Mark Wahlberg, Jesse Metcalf, Usher, Will.i.am, and J Lo and Marc Anthony were among the celebs at the MGM Grand Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas last night to watch the Oscar De La Hoya and Manny Pacquiao fight. Though De La Hoya was favored to win, the Golden Boy lost in a technical knockout.

One star in attendance drew almost as much attention as the actual fight: Will Ferrell showed up dressed in a long mink leopard coat and white sunglasses.

"It was such a weird outfit," says an eyewitness. "Everyone was staring at him."

I heard he just quit he was getting pummelled so badly. I think Oscar's boxing days are overwith. Sad, because there's no one else out there that is exciting to watch as Oscar. Maybe his heart just isn't in it like it used to be since he doesn't need the money at all.

Yeah, I think it was a big mistake to take this fight. Hopefully he will just leave it alone. Most likely his pride is hurt more than anything.

What's crazy about it is that Oscar had to come DOWN in weight, while Manny had to go up in weight class. You'd think it would be easier for Oscar - he'd be leaner, faster, etc. than he was. For Manny, it would be tougher because he'd be getting used to being bigger and slower.

That's why I really wonder if Oscar really cares anymore. He gets the huge payoffs whether he wins or not.

Manny is going to be a huge hero in the Phillipines for this one!

Even though I don't follow boxing I was happy with the result. I mean, why do the sports talk shows (particularly Jim Rome) hype Oscar up like they do?

They hype it up to make that money. :dollar:

This is what happens when you don't take the sport seriously.Oscar started doing that Sugar Ray Leonard crap, come back every two years and fight.You're skills get eroded and you're humiliated.Maybe this will be the deathblow to a great, but confused career.
