...who else here has a family pollyanna every year? Or one at work or school? We have a family one, and this year I have my sister and brother-in-law.

Forgive me for my ignorance? But, what the heck is a pollyanna?

I think it is like drawing names outta a hat and then thats who you buy for. I have my brother and my hubby has my dad. If that is not what it is, then ignore my whole post.

yes, Tara and everyone else; that's exactly what it is. Sorry, I thought everyone knew that word.

I guess I have never been in an enviornment, where we had someone, whose name was picked out of a hat and that same person was responsible for buy the gifts!! Oh, well, I guess, you learn something new, everyday

That's a new term to me--we always called it Secret Santa or Kris Kringle.

BTW, does anyone else hate that Mystery Santa game where everyone brings a gift. Person #1 picks one, then Person #2 can pick one or grab Person #1's gift, etc etc. I always see people ending up with hurt feelings because someone has to be an @$$ and always trying to get the best gift for themselves. I refuse to play it and when someone mentions they are doing it, I just don't go to the party. This is not what the holidays are supposed to be about!
