I would love to see season four released next month. However, that doesn't seem possible. After all, if Sony was going to release the next season with in the next couple of weeks, they would have announced it months ago, I think.

Oh no, that's not what I meant. I think its a good idea that you posted this. It lets everyone know what is going on. And who knows, maybe the fourth season will come out next month. I was just saying that I kind of doubt it. I would be more than happy to be wrong though. :)

I would be so excited if Season 4 came out this month. It would be a nice Christmas surprise. Maybe they got wind of just how popular "Facts" is and they want to cash in on it for holiday shopping. Then, if it sold well, they could move on to Season 5 in early 2009. That would be AMAZING! :)

Sorry, I really didn't find that funny. That was sooo mean :( . I was so happy to hear this news and now I find out it's false. WTF? Why toy with something like this? We've already been waiting for this for an eternity, don't f*ck with our brains and pull jokes like that :mad: . Stupid YouTube people. Some of them really need to get a life (this doesn't pertain to the users who are putting FOL eps back on there, I thank them greatly :)).

Ugh, don't remind me. I want to see it so bad. I'm hoping someone puts it online either to YT or Joost soon because that episode aired on TV (Me-TV in Chicago, near me) before I got my DVR and I'd love to see it soon for Christmas :D .

Yes, thank you! This is WONDERFUL news, only, unfortunately for me, a lot of the fun has gone out of it. You see, I first started watching FOL on Nick-at-Nite when it was on NAN for that one year and I didn't see all the episodes. I didn't know it was on the Hallmark Channel until it was practically in the middle of season four, and the Hallmark Channel only ran the series through once before they took it off. A large part of the thrill of the DVD releases for me has been seeing a lot of the earlier season episodes for the very first time and I've seen pretty much all of season four on Youtube already, and five and the others. Don't get me wrong, guys. It's not that I wouldn't be grateful to FINALLY have it on DVD. I really would. I'm just ticked at Sony for taking such a ridiculously long time with the release. And thank you all SO MUCH for the news! I'll try to keep hope alive too. :D

I just called Sony myself to verify this rumor and a representative told me that it is currently not in works (for the following month) nor is it not ever going to be released -- so she says options are open, but they are not currently working on a release as of yet, unless they have not and can not give us this information until the press release is available. Are you sure you heard the sony rep correctly?? Did you say the Facts of Life - are they sure they know what show we are talking about?? -- Like not Fantasy Island or some crap like that.

I'm with you LoveMrsG, a lot of the fun has gone out of it for me as well. I mean yes, I'm stoked to hear that it's finally coming out but really... too little too late almost. All of season 4 and some of 5 is already on YouTube and Veoh and I've caught up that way (thanks to all who uploaded, we fans appreciate it! :D ). And there's still more to come from the rest of 5 and then 6-9. At this point in time, the whole series will be out and thriving on the internet before Sony decides to quit being ****** and release season 4. What sucks is that if and when season 4 comes out, there's the matter of waiting again for the remaining seasons to come out. My fear is that many FOL fans have given up hope on future DVD releases and because of this, will not buy it when it comes out (out of anger at Sony for not releasing it ages ago and because like most of us, have watched later seasons online) and will therefore lead to its demise because low sales = no future releases and no future releases = FOL going into the same vault DS went into long, long, long ago.
My apologies for this depressing response, I definitely didn't mean for it to come out that way; I was just writing what I was feeling :) .

That sounds accurate. As I posted in another thread, Comcast OnDemand is now several episodes into Season 5 and, usually that means they are almost ready for a dvd release. However, you can't always go by that because they also have a couple more seasons of shows like "One Day at a Time" and "Who's The Boss" but haven't released the second season of either of those yet. So maybe preparations are underway and if sales aren't up to their expecations, they don't prioritize the follow-up release.

I think with "Facts" this is a good sign. There is definitely a fan-base out there. I would like to think that 2009 will be the year for "Facts" fans to get a good portion of the show released on dvd. Would be great to see 3 seasons come out. :)

I think us calling is a good idea to get word to Sony that fans are waiting and we will buy the complete series on dvd.

Season 5 is a very important season because that was the first season when the eps. no longer took place in Eastland after Blair and Jo had graduated from Eastland and attending Langley college, Mrs. Garrett opened a new gourmet shop, and the girls join her there.

I knew there's something fishy about this when it's already February, and FOL S4 still hasn't been out or even announced.

I asked them what is taking so long, and they told me that basically they have to go by how much the seasons sell in order to continue releasing seasons.


I just bought season 3 on dvd over the weekend - I got it 'new' from Amazon, so hopefully that will add to the sales and bring season 4 that little bit closer.

I actually wanted to jump straight to season 4, but like you say - you need to buy the prior seasons if you want the show released in full.

yes they sure would. Threes Company exhibit a. thats one of the shows I have the WHOLE series on dvd and its from anchor bay. at least I could count on them.

If Sony sold it to Shout Factory, the rest of them would come out for sure and there would probably be special features too.

It just irritates me though that Sony can finish other shows, but they aren't finishing this one.

MPI is another great outlet for releasing entire shows--"Family Affair", "the Doris Day Show", even the old soap opera, "Dark Shadows", which has 1000s of episodes!

I really wonder why sony won't release the show to another company who will finish releasing the series. It's really pointless for sony to keep this show if there not going to finish releasing the series. You know this show doesn't get the recognition it deserves I mean Nick @ Nite brought on this show because fans asked for it and they screwed with the show so much they took out so much of each episode to make room for commercials and then they wouldn't show certain episodes and then they ended up putting it on really late at night more like 3 in the morning like anyone will be up at that time to watch it. I just hate how this show gets treated I mean it's a very good show and this site proves there are still lots of fans that love it. Well I guess we just have to keep our fingers crossed and hope that sony will get there heads out of there buts and either get the rest of it released or let another company have it that will.

Sony needs to do an MOD service! And then realize it missed the boat releasing the series in a conventional way. MOD is manufacture on demand, btw. Warner is starting this, so hopefully other studios will follow suit.

MOD sounds awesome; Sony should do that. Maybe then the seasons would come out quicker :D .
