I never watched Little House. It looks like a great show, but I was an active teen when it was on, so it passed me by. I've been catching an episode here and there on TV Land, and I enjoy it a great deal. Fantastic cast. It's simply a sweet show that's full of heart. Michael Landon being so handsome doesn't hurt matters either, lol.

I feel asleep watching a good episode, and I'd love to know what happened. Charles and his friend Isaiah find themselves on a dangerous mission transporting liquid nitro (I think that's what it was). It's so dangerous that their wives are sent $5,000 life insurance policies should they not make it and get blown up. It's clear liquid, and they transport it by putting it in wagons covered in straw.

They're traveling with two other men, who don't know each other. One man is black, and the other man doesn't like that one bit. Something tells me that changes in the end. I'd love to know the name of the black actor as he was fantastic and very good looking. The racist subplot was interesting, and I'd like to know who that was resolved.

Does anyone know if anything interesting happened? I nodded off halfway into the show, just when things were starting to get interesting.

Well nobody gets blown up but Mr. Edwards has some fun with a would be robber, and scares him away by playing with a bottle of liquid he's convinced the robber is real nitro (its actually some placebo). Yes, the bigoted guy does have a change of heart in the end. But then the foursome encounter a bigoted a**h*** train conductor. When he doesn't let the black fellow sit with the others, all four sit together on a freight wagon hooked up to the salon car.

I just looked up that episode, and that was a young Lou Gossett Jr. playing the black man who was facing the prejudice. People look so different when they're young, especially over 30 years ago.

The girls still appear at some LH fan events with other cast members, and have tons of pictures that their mom took on the set. They also got to visit Michael Landon on the set of Highway to Heaven in the late 1980s - the last time they saw him before he passed.

Well my wish list of former LHOP players on the show to meet would start with Scottie MacGregor and Alison Arngrim, mother and daughter of the Oleson clan. Both are supposed to be really nice in person, in contrast to the characters they played. But meeting anyone from the show would be a real treat.

I did get to meet Alison Arngrim in July 2005 at the Little House Reunion & Western Film Festival that was open to the public in Arizona. She really is a kick...one of the highlights was the Bad Girls of the Prairie Q&A session she co-hosted with Allison Balson (Nancy). I agree, Janice. Lou Gossett was/is handsome. The predjudiced white guy was Richard Jaeckel, who also played the jerk who raped Sylvia several seasons later. He played a rotten guy pretty well.

To top it off, Alison Arngrim howled "Moooooooooooooother!" and Allison Balson yelled, "You hate me, you all hate me!" as soon as the wigs were on. It was a hilarious moment. :rofl:

It was so fun watching those Q & A panels. Dean Butler has even produced/narrated short films on the REAL story (where Almanzo Wilder grew up, the different towns the Ingalls family lived in, etc).
