When I went to Tvshowsondvd.com a few minutes ago and saw that My Two Dads was coming to DVD, I thought I was seeing things. I didn't think this show would ever come out on DVD since it only ran for 3 seasons and isn't even in syndication anymore. Easily the biggest surprise of the year. What's even more shocking is it's coming out before Staci Keanan's other show which was much more popular and ran twice as long as My Two Dads, Step by Step.

I am just as shocked about My Two Dads being released before Step by Step, however SBS is a show carried WB. WB released a Television Favorites Disc around June 2006, featuring 6 of the best episodes of SBS, which obviously did not reach the projected sales goal, allowing WB to produce future season sets.

My Two Dads, on the other hand, is released by Shout! Factory. It seems like MTD was originally a Sony show, since it used to have Columbia Tri Star tags at the end, and was recently leased to Shout! Hopefully that will happen with Step by Step and other WB shows that we know and love.

Oh, I know that, I just never expected this show to ever come to DVD. I'm certainly not complaining though. I used to love Step by Step. However, I've seen the episodes so many times, I don't care if I see the show again, at least for another few years. So even if they ever decide to release it on DVD, I doubt I'd buy it. I haven't seen an episode of My Two Dads in over 7 years, and while it wasn't exactly one of my favorite shows, it was always a guilty pleasure, so I'll definitely pick up the 1st season when it comes out. I just hope enough people buy it so they'll release season 2 sometime in the future.

OMG! I use to love this show. I hope I'll still like it. It's made fun of sooo much now. As a kid, I didn't think about how weird the premise was. Is there hope for Greg Evigan's B.J. and the Bear now? :)

I grew up watching My Two Dads as a kid in the '80s. It's really awesome to see it coming to DVD! :)
(And yes, it does have a weird premise- certainly not the best of premises, but I liked watching it nonetheless...)
