I couldn't understand the hype so I watched several - I couldn't stand it.

The normal thing for a person to do is when they dislike a show is to not watch it, not make a pointless thread about it telling how you didnt like it.

I love MWC. It's one of my favorite shows of the'90's. I think it's an acquired taste though. Most people either love it or hate it. lol

I agree with you, Mad about you was such a CHICK show and I now understand why the OP did not like MWC

I think they're both good series, but Mad is going to appeal greatly to women while MWC will likely not appeal to very many women at all.

If you think Paul Reiser is a pretty good comedian, then Mad is worth watching. There were some very good scripts. There's nothing too different from traditional stuff as in The Honeymooners or The Bob Newhart Show. It's innocuous fare about a man and woman. It's best if you can watch the episodes that relate how they met.

Married with Children had some outrageously funny episodes. The supermarket-sweep stuff was absolutely hilarious. If you can take the character of Al, you can enjoy some unbelievably good comedy!

unfortunately (or fortunately - depending on how you look at it) not everyone is going to like every show, and maybe this show just isn't going to appeal you you.

it all depends on what you didn't like about it; if it was the wild raunchy humor and almost cartoon-like situations, then I'm sorry but that's what the show was all about and made it so great, but some people just don't like.

I have to be in the mood for MWC to watch it, but I like it OK. It's so over the top. That is what makes it funny. It isn't realistic like Andy Griffith, Brady Bunch, Three's Company, etc.... too many things are so over the top....like Santa Claus crashing down on the patio after a parachute problem! It's funny though.

Chocolate Moose simply did not like the show. I like the show though. LOL. The one episode that I did have a problem with was when Al started that church. I had a major issue with that and would not have went ahead with that idea.
