Are you a cat or a dog person, or do you prefer a different pet. I'm both a cat and dog person, but I'm definitely more of a dog person. I've been that way my whole life.

I have three cats (one of which is sitting on me right now) and I temporarily have two kittens, but I still prefer dogs.

Definitely a 'dog' person, but I will interact with cats that approach me first and it is those cats I enjoy. (Problem is, I'm allergic to most 'outdoor' cats, so I have to be careful).

Dog person definitely. I like cats too, but to me they lack something that dogs have.

Neither. But I'd rather have a dog. Most cats I've encountered are mean or don't even bother to like you. Plus I'm allergic to cats.

My dog after she got into the garbage and tissue stuck to her face without her realizing it. :) And her owning the couch like she owns the rest of us lol...and then when we first got her in April.

That's how I feel. Cats seem to not care for people as much. Not that I'd blame them, but yeah.

I prefer cats, barking dogs drive me up the wall.

Cats all the way, I currently have 7 of them and a cocker spaniel. This was the first pet I ever had but I have no idea what happened to it. :(

I've had cats as pets and around me my whole life- 20 years. While people had dogs for pets, most of my pets were cats, besides the house fish, a turtle, a bunny rabbit etc. we had. My first dog we got this last July that just passed, at the end of the month. I like Dogs, but I like and enjoy cats more. I guess it also depends on what cats or what dogs you have. My dog is not really a puppy, maybe a year old but he acts like a child- he steals and chews our tissues, TP, anything from the trash if he can get to it, reach it etc. and is just trouble. I love him and he's cute but my personality is similiar to a cat, on my own, give me some food and I'm good. I don't need to be watched over or my a$$ to be whiped every min. like some dogs. No offense to dog lovers. I still love them- just prefer cats more.

I am most definitely a cat person. I have two female cats named Beast and Georgia. Georgia, despite looking bigger than Beast, is the younger cat; she's grayish, just like her father Charlie, who I used to have.

I'm more of a cat person. They are easier to take care of. Yet, I love dogs as well. I guess I'm both.

I love all animals. My first pets were cats, then later I started getting dogs. Both are different in their own way but I love them both.

I love both cats and dogs and have found that they get along. Kitties love to cuddle up next to dogs give them "kitty hugs" (rub against them).

Yeah, I think I'm going to be leaving my bedroom door shut today. They've been clawing at my door today a little more than usual, and it's making me a bit nervous. :rotflmao:

Cats really are incredibly smart, and I truly wouldn't be surprised if she actually did know what I was writing. Dogs may have more emotions for the most part, but I think cats are definitely smarter.

I totally agree. That's one of the reason people don't like cats as much as dogs - they're more on the same level with humans than a dog is. There's a saying that a dog lives with you - you live with a cat! It's not as though they're not as affectionate as dogs - they're just much more independent and not as reliant on people.

Ever noticed the total look of distain on a cat when it's looking at a dog? It's like they're thinking, oh you stupid, subbordinate slob you!

That's true. My cats are very much like humans in that when they need affection, they'll be all over you, yet when they want to be alone, they act like you don't even exist.

I definitely have noticed that look that cats give dogs. Ha ha ha!!!! My cats won't even lay near a pillow where my dog Paisley has laid. It's almost as if they feel that it would be beneath them to do so.

lol - one of my cats loves to sleep in the dogs' bed. You should see the look the dogs give him when they see him there but they don't dare try to get him out and they know it!
It's the opposite at my place - the dogs won't lie where the cats have been. And one dog refuses to drink "cat water". She'll only drink out of the "dogs" water. It's a riot to watch.

My cats look the same way at dogs. Both of them arch their backs when a dog gets near their space.

100% Cat person. I have a one-bedroom apartment - well, scratch that: My cats have a one-bedroom apartment, they just let me pay rent and sleep in it. ;)

By the way, don't tell my landlord I have three cats. He thinks I only have two

Gotta disagree with you. Dogs are annoying an require a ton of attention. Cats are fine by themselves, or will play with you (my cats love to play "fetch" with stuffed mice). Best of both worlds.
