they take care of somebody else, or instinctly put somebody before themselves, and don't take care of themselves overall? I see a lot of ppl, especially moving up in jobs, in the entertainment business or in general doing this. I have the second problem, not taking care of myself properly like I should of. What do you think about this?

Yes, as a mom & wife. I tend to put my son and husband first and take care of myself last. I barely get 6-7 hours a night of sleep a night if im lucky.

I think almost every woman does this when she gets married. It starts by making sure hubby has the biggest portions - or the portion that isn't burnt, etc. and then when kids come along, they come before everything else (although to me, it should still be your spouse too).

I was brought up to put everyone else before me. If I wanted something for myself I was called "selfish". Unfortunately, it was drilled into me so much that I lost a lot of myself so I'm usually the last that gets taken care of. I'm just at the point now I realize that sometimes I have to put myself first. It isn't easy because I just feel guilty when I do that.
