View Full Version : Who's the most annoying character who ever appeared on the show?
Anti-Dentyte 11-16-2008, 02:29 PM Who's the most annoying character who's ever appeared on Seinfeld?
My choice is Pat Buckles, the unfunny wannabe comedian from the episode "The Movie". That character is just plain rude and irritating with no redeeming qualities whatsoever. And he kept begging Jerry to hang his overcoat in his closet for a few months.
kramer 12-13-2008, 07:24 AM I say Joel from "Male Unbonding". Jerry tries to "break up" with him but can't.
catlover79 12-13-2008, 01:18 PM ^ That's my pick, too. That guy just irritated me.
Seinatra 12-14-2008, 07:05 PM Two very good picks.
One lady who always annoyed me was the "cotton dockers" gal that Jerry was dating who liked the commercial. Also the massuese who refused to give Jerry a massage was pretty annoying.
browneyes106 12-29-2008, 01:13 AM Debra Messing's character.
catlover79 12-29-2008, 09:37 AM How about Dan, the guy with the womanly voice?
Willsatx 01-07-2009, 11:42 PM How about the pool guy who wanted to be Jerry's friend, hated that character.
Anti-Dentyte 01-11-2009, 04:26 PM All good choices. :)
And of course there's Kenny Bania, who's probably the most famous of all the annoying "enemies" of Jerry's.
Newman is pretty annoying too, but he has a redeeming quality----he's damn funny! :D
catlover79 01-11-2009, 09:46 PM ^ Yes, I think Newman was the most irritating of them all!!
Willsatx 01-15-2009, 11:08 PM Newman annoying but funny.
Yooch 01-15-2009, 11:31 PM The girl who was the 'low' talker. She spoke so softly, no one could understand her. (Isn't she also the one who designed Jerry's pirate shirt?)
The Asian-American girl (a lawyer) George tried to impress, first, by pretending to be funnier than Jerry, and then not funny. She was so p***** when she found out, that she dumped George, and then she wouldn't take on Babu's visa case. She seemed really unpleasant to me somehow.
Tweety 01-19-2009, 09:31 AM How about Winona, the Native American? Here she gives Jerry a TV Guide to replace the one that Elaine lost, and then a couple of days later, she wants it back! I mean, what is she, an Ind..uh... um... uhhh.
And that after Jerry gets two tickets to a Knicks game from a scal...um, one of those guys that sells tickets on the street...
And... he even takes her out to dinner, even taking time to make reserva... um, even taking time to arrange for the appropriate accommodations.
j/k she was a babe
yeah, Pat Buckles and Joel were pretty annoying, along with the pool guy

AHHHH! I can't stand that Banya guy. Also I can't stand Kathy Griffin. :barf:
Anti-Dentyte 01-23-2009, 12:16 AM We have something in common there----I can't stand Kathy Griffin either. I don't think she's funny one bit. She's one of the most annoying comedians in show business today. :P
pitcherday 05-22-2009, 12:47 PM I never really cared for Mickey, the little person who showed up a few times. Even though we really don't see Kramer's other friends much, he just really didn't seem to fit in with the show very well.
catlover79 05-22-2009, 10:45 PM While we're on the subject again, I forgot to add Susan. I never liked her at all, but I have the feeling she was never supposed to be likable.
Marvo301 05-22-2009, 10:53 PM While we're on the subject again, I forgot to add Susan. I never liked her at all, but I have the feeling she was never supposed to be likable.
Considering that Susan was a character they were going to eventually kill off (not to mention she was the character who came between George and Jerry!) she probably wasn't meant to be likable. As for me I think the most annoying character on this show is Kenny Banya. After all what's more annoying than an unfunny comic?
catlover79 05-22-2009, 10:56 PM Well, I will say that Susan played a prominent role in one of my all-time favorite Seinfeld eps, The Bubble Boy ep.

Sorry it says Moops!

I always lose it whenever I think of moors/moops. :brent

Being a fan of both Seinfeld and Trivial Pursuit this one of my all time favorite sitcom scenes!

There you go!!
Schmoopie 05-23-2009, 01:09 AM Banya is the one that irritates me the most, probably followed by the little guy. I found Steve Hytner's IMDB page and it says that he was only in 6 Seinfeld episodes. I could have sworn he was in more than that. I wonder what he's like in person? I should watch some of his other stuff, because I'm guessing he's not quite so irritating when he's playing someone else!

I think George would agree!

Yeah, he may or may not be an irritating person in real life, but Bania was definitely meant to be an irritating character on the show.
Re: the IMDB entry for Hytner - I found an instance on IMDB where I know that they under-counted the number of episodes a character was in... I was looking up "Gomer Pyle, USMC" one time and noticed that Barbara Stuart, who played Sgt Carter's girlfriend "Bunny", was only credited with being in four episodes of the series, and in one of those four eps, she was credited as playing another character. I have that whole series on DVD and had been watching a lot of episodes, and she was in way more than 3 eps as Bunny.
I don't know exactly how IMDB compiles their credits lists, but I'm positive they screwed up that one.
I'll have to keep any eye out for Banya's character...seems to me that he was in more than six episodes too...the two I immediately thought of were "The Soup" and "The Soup Nazi", which were listed by IMDB.
He had a lot of lines, maybe that's why it seemed like he was around more than he was given credit for. Now every time I see him in an episode, I'll have to check IMDB to see if they included it. Sure seems like they must have missed something.
catlover79 05-27-2009, 08:38 AM I think George would agree!
Not to mention George's dad!!
Anti-Dentyte 06-18-2009, 08:45 PM Bania is very annoying to be sure, but does anyone remember Pat Buckles? He wins hands down, I think. :D
RogueDK 09-10-2009, 12:47 PM Without a doubt it was Bania for me. Ugh.
rusyd 09-11-2009, 02:03 PM Two very good picks.
One lady who always annoyed me was the "cotton dockers" gal that Jerry was dating who liked the commercial. Also the massuese who refused to give Jerry a massage was pretty annoying.
The massage lady for sure and Jimmy-no one touches Jimmy! Take ur hands off Jimmy!
oldguywithsticks 01-24-2010, 04:36 AM Easily, EASILY Sally Weaver (Kathy Griffin). Annoying b***h.
Tweety 01-24-2010, 08:52 AM Easily, EASILY Sally Weaver (Kathy Griffin). Annoying b***h.
Ooo, good call! Didn't think of her when I first thought about this question.
Weaver becomes even more annoying when you realize that Kathy Griffin is actually that annoying (or more so) in real life
