Which do you prefer?? I got a laptop for my birthday and figured I'd prefer it by a long shot, but in reality, while I like the convenience of it, it's sometimes uncomfortable, and I'll prefer the comfort of sitting in a chair at my desktop. When I feel that way, I'll usually just move my desktop screen, and put my laptop up on the table. Overall I'd say I like both equally, but laptops are definitely not as handy as I had once figured they would be. What do you all think??

Laptops are overrated, the Mouse is in the middle and the sentences are hard to type

Give me a desktop any day of the week

laptop. it took a little getting used to because it is so different from a desktop, but i love being able to take it anywhere with me- the living room, my bed, the kitchen. it's really convenient & easy to use nowadays.

Funny you should ask - I just bought my first laptop last night!! In fact, this is my first computer of my very own. I haven't got the internet set up yet (I'm writing this from the library) but I spent last night and the better part of today ripping my CDs onto it. Then I can get my iTunes set up. I'm really excited about it!!! :D

Both have their advantages and disadvantages, but I'm more picky about the OS. Windows, Unix, Linux, ect. are great but I think the Macintosh OS is incredibly overrated. I stopped at series 7. The problem I have with Macs is that after a period of time, the hardware deteriorates and creates operating issues. These days you also have to send it to the APPLE STORE to get it fixed or the warranty is null. I'm a do-it-yourselfer.

I've only tried a laptop once and i hated it. I'd much rather have a desktop.

It depends, desktops are better but if you get a laptop that's really good or that you can't refuse, it might be worthwhile for you.

I have a laptop now and the mouse in the middle like Solomon said, is annoying as hell. So many other little errors are present on laptops- yet it can be used as a great, mobile device.

I have both, but I like the laptop better because then I can sit on my bed. I don't like being confined to a chair. Plus....NO MONITOR CORD, NO KEYBOARD CORD, etc. You get me.

Desktop.

I bought a laptop a few years back but I just couldn't adjust to it. I ended up giving it to my dad, who never gets off it

I've always owned desktop computers, but my next computer will be a laptop. Hopefully I'll be getting one soon.

I've had a laptop for two years and I don't think I could go back to using a desktop computer. I love portability!

I like both and I have both. I use my laptop more because I could move around and watch tv while doing stuff. I only get on my desktop every few days to either add pictures, download music or make mix CD's.

I like laptops because they're convenient, but overall desktops seem to bring less problems.

Maybe someone can help me with this laptop question. There's a product on the market that apparentaly adjusts the laptop in such a way that you can see the keyboard, and type while you're laying down. I love to go on the computer when I'm laying down, and being lazy, but the only way to type this way is by putting my knees up and letting the computer rest on them. My question is, does anyone know the name of the product that makes it to where you can type while laying down?? I've checked everywhere, but have been unable to find it. Thanks in advance!!

Me, too. Desktops usually have more memory/storage.
