Here's something you'd never find when stranded on a deserted island -- a full menu. Gilligan's Cove put in a new kitchen recently (presumably made of thatched bamboo and coconuts), and they're serving up homemade soups, burgers and pizza -- island-style.

"We're offering a full lineup of appetizers, and a lot of lunch specials," says Harland Morehart, owner of the bar and grill. Morehart hired chef Joanne McCann (who was previously with McGoon's) to create the menu and put the Gilligan's dining experience together.

"We have all-homemade soups and chili, and we make homemade pizza from scratch," McCann says. "Everything is named after Gilligan's Island TV show."

Their most popular burger is the Skipper, which tops a hand-pattied burger with sauteed mushrooms, fried onions, bacon and Swiss cheese. There's also the Ginger buffalo chicken wrap and a Gilligan black-and-blue burger. And then there's the peanut butter burger, which seriously includes peanut butter, American cheese and bacon atop a beef patty. No joke. "People love it," McCann insists.

Sandwiches, wraps, homemade pizza, appetizers and hand-battered fish and chips round out the island-themed menu.

Gilligan's Cove is at 11 4th Street S.E. in Rochester.

I know there is a Gilligan themed bar in Maryland. They advertise alot, it's always nice hearing "Gilligan" on the radio.

^do you know if that's really based off the show? Because I went to their website and it was rather uniformative.

You would think they'd have quite a few vegetarian items since there was no game on Gilligan's Island as the professor himself said. Besides seafood they basically had only fruit but I remember Gilligan and Skipper eating carrots and celery in that episode with Wrongway Feldman when they were trying to keep him awake. LOL!

There should be a lot of fruit themed items plus of course coconut milk and don't forget coconut cream pie! LOL!

BTW, that link in the first post doesn't work since it says you have to register. It would be easier if an actual link to the restaurants's site was posted.
