View Full Version : Future Cable Network Predictions
jasonbigley 11-04-2008, 04:07 PM What cable networks do you predict will be drastically changed in the next 5 to 10 years?
Nick At Nite- It is changing drastically right now from what it used to be in 1985. Im thinking in the next 5 to 10 years maybe Nickelodeon will buy it out and Nickelodeon maybe 24 hours.
TVLand- It will probably phase out classic TV reruns and show reality shows and TV show reruns of shows that have ended in the last 2 to 3 years.
TBS- Im thinking it will be more of a movie network instead of showing TV shows.
ABC Family- Im not really shure about this one. It will probably just become more modernized and follow the bandwagon of phasing out classic TV.

all cable networks are forced to change so they can keep up with the times. So yes they all will change in the future
Tubehead 11-11-2008, 09:18 AM i figuer tvland want stay around longer if they keep showing newer shows or MOVIES. it been going down hill CENTS they add scurbs,eXTREAM HOMEMakeover and adding the cobsy show.
I wish nick at nite would be 24 hour like tv land. maybe haveNickelodeon on different channel and add more cartoons. i think NICK AT NITE SHOULDD BE 24 HOURS. THEY could show the jerfferons, perfect stranger, the oddcoulpleor the wonder years. they could still call it modern classics. i think they show should be on nick at nite:Mamma's family boy meets world, step by step, Calfiron dreams or maybe saved by the bell. i also heard they might add that 70' show in 2010. i just heard rumor i also heard they might show friend in couple of years. only two show i watch are family matter and home inprovment. I can't stand geroge lopez.

TV land is not going downhill, it's just reaching out to different viewers and it looks to be working out very for them. Even I wish the network was like it was in 2001, those days are gone and I just have to accept it

dakert 11-11-2008, 03:58 PM RE: TVLand --Just because it isnt 2001 we have to endure endless blocks of over-played shows, tired old movies, lame originals??
I loved Nick At Nite 1985-1990. It was Black and White heaven
I didnt see TVLand in 1996 but the commercials I heard on some recorded episodes must have been right up my alley. For example, Coming up this weekend Judy Garland Christmas show, Dean Martin and the rat pack, On sunday Ed Sullivan.

Just do like I do, only turn to TV Land when there is something on you like to watch. If they are not airing any shows you like then you wouldn't turn to the channel at all

TVLand has picked up CSI reruns, to me it has gone downhill

These are the times we are in and TV land is just keeing up with the times

In the beginning they seem to not worry about keeping up with the times and they aired wholesome TV shows that everyone in the family could watch together. They were far from the norm
Now, just the other night they had Fatal Attraction on. Is that keeping up with the times?

It' already been stated that TV Land found out they couldn't survive as a Classic TV Only Cable network

So now its like any other cable station, it doesn't stand out amongst the others. And to me it has gone downhill. You might not think that it has, but I do, now TVLand sucks big time.

it doesn't suck big time because they still air shows like the Cosby Show, Sanford and son, Jeffersons, and Good times. It's just that the network was forced to be like the other cable channels so they could continue to get big time sponsors

All of those shows air on other networks, You just commented on TVOne picking up the Jeffersons, and now S&S. So how is TVLand different?

What other cable channels air the Jeffersons and Sanford and Son right now besides TV Land?????????-LOL
That TV one thing is not until january

With TVOne picking up The Jeffersons and S&S how is TVLand any different then any other station? It doesn't matter if they don't air until Jan, the point is they are now apart of that networks lineup. WGN has more variety then TVLand.

But would you admit that TV land has been somewhat watchable in 2008? Now I will agree that it will really start to suck in 2009 since TV one will air the shows that they have now.

I haven't really watched TVLand in a long time. So I can't say if it's watchable or not. I'll sometimes catch TCS, other then that. I watch more TVOne, TBS and WGN then any other station.

What's on TBS? And I miss WGN, 10 years since I seen it and counting

In the mornings while either getting ready or making breakfast I'll watch Save by the Bell, In the evenings Friends and King Of Queens and sometimes I'll watch Seinfeld.

Your SBTB watching days should be over-lol

It's always nice to watch something that you watched in your preteens. And its way better then watching Sponge Bob Square pants or Thomas the Train early in the morning.
