I know about the long version. I have it on disc. I love it too. That long version was condensed to a short version for "TV's greatest themes" as well.

I like the long version, but the original season 1 version is my fave.
And what is with that huge 30 Rock pic by the original poster??

The short version I found on a CD entitled Television's Greatest Hits Vol. 6 - the long version on a CD called Rock On 1979. Oddly enough, "Different Worlds" was #1 on the Billboard Adult Contemporary chart the day I was born!! It's a terrific tune that shows off Maureen McGovern's range quite well.

I have the TV GH CD--that's the version from season 2 I believe. The long version I once had was on Tube Tunes from Rhino. Season 1's theme song was on Youtube at one point. That's the opening where cast shots are superimposed over some statue in Philadelphia.

Thanks for the info, Jude. To me, I will always remember Maureen McGovern as the singer of the Poseidon Adventure song ("The Morning After") and as the guitar-playing nun in Airplane! The latter, of course, featured Angie's leading man Robert Hays as Ted Striker, with the worst "drinking problem" ever!!

I loved when she sang/played Aretha Franklin's "Respect" in Airplane! That was too much.

I stand corrected--the song on TV GH is simply an abbreviated version of the 45 single. At you tube, season 2's open is simply the same season 1 theme song with different shots/scenes and ends with Angie and Brad on top of the Philly City Hall (which has the statue on top used in season 1).
