Sightings used to come over every Friday night at 9 in my area. Usually I would spend Friday nights watch UM at 7 , play video games for an hour and I would watch Sightings The show covered some of the same stories as UM like the Allagash Four. The show used to creep me like UM did. Did anyone of you watch it and it was reran on Sci-Fi until 2003 or 2004.

I did! I remember that in addition to Sightings, AMW, and a weird show named "Likely Suspect" (???) would air. My favorite of course was Sightings.

Later during the mid 90's, Sightings came back on Sunday nights. One of the first episodes shown was a segment on Frank Bender and a bust of a child that was found decomposed in a factory area or something (this child was eventually identified).

I never saw it when it was on Sci-Fi, but tell me, did they edit out the parts of the show in which the host gave directions on how to find Sightings on AOL or Compuserve or whatever it was.

My husband has told me that show used to scare the crap out of him. I vaguely remember it but never saw it---I wish I would've caught it now, though. It sounds great!

I don't think the Sci-Fi segments were edited or updated. I do remember Tim would say about AOL.

Yeah, I used to watch Sightings. I remember that it started almost as UM did, as a series of hour long specials. The first one was called "The UFO Report". Then it became a half hour weekly series. The format was almost like a news report on current paranormal occurrences. I do not recall crimes ever being profiled unless there was some supernatural element. For example, they did a segment about Jack the Ripper but had a psychic visiting some of the locations in Whitchapel where the victim's bodies were found. The show was eventually moved to some graveyard time once a week but was extended to an hour. Eventually it was canceled altogether with the SciFi Channel showing reruns - we didn't get Sci-Fi back then so I didn't catch any of them.

There was another show that aired around that same time called "Encounters: The Hidden Truth". Now who here remembers that one? :)

I just found this full episode of Sightings on Google video I thought I would post it here for those who used to watch the show and those who never saw an episode. It is a lot like UM.

was this the show where the little boy was terrorized by a clown in the wall? I believe the whole house was haunted

I have Sightings and Encounters, I must be one of the few who taped those shows back then.

Yeah I watched it. I wish they'd show reruns. I haven't seen the show since it originally aired in the mid 90's.

yes,I liked that show, but if I recall correctly,X-Files replaced it.I was hoping that show would be as interestng, but it wasn't.I'm not really into the sci-fi aspect of it.Sightings was at least reality-based stories.

What I took away from sightings, other than Henry Winkler producing it, was the Heartland Ghost segments. Talk about scary! This family lived in a turn of the century home and it was haunted. To make matters worse the ghost was scratching the husband. EVEN IN FRONT OF THE SIGHTINGS CREW!

Hells yeah! I watched that show - it was mental! I loved it!

I always liked when "psychic" Peter James would start yelling "I'M NOT AFRAID OF YOU!" at some like, some empty room or a dark empty corner - damn entertaining

Oh yeah, and the Heartland Ghost segments would freak me out back then -- nowadays, not so much - but still fun to watch nonetheless
