i went into walmart first thing in the morning nov. 1 to pick up dog food and the night crew must have been busy before opening because the ladies wear dept. had their xmas shirts out, most of the hallowen items in seasonal were condensed into a few shelves and on clearance and they had a quarter of their xmas decor already out. a small selection of ornaments/wreaths/xmas trees. xmas music was blaring from the speaker system, shrek the halls was playing on their display tv and the dvds were out on the shelves in electronics despite being a few days before its release date (nov. 4), and egg nog was available in their dairy section. very christmasy indeed!

i love xmas although most of my loved ones who made the season special are long dead, but they are with me in spirit as i decorate and remember fondly the christmases of yesteryear. however, the whole gift giving has become a drag. i would like for once to just celebrate the season for its true meaning and forgo gifts for a change. going out for a drive and look at the houses decorated, or have a tree trimming party w/ egg nog and cookies w/ bing crosby crooning white christmas in the background, or gather in the living room with popcorn & cocoa and watch an xmas movie marathon.

i think a lot of people will be doing more of that this year as opposed to buying more & more gifts for people because of the economy. one of my favorite things to do during christmas is to get a cup of hot chocolate and go to the most popular neighborhood close by that goes ALL OUT for christmas with their lights and decorations. there's people caroling, walking around, taking pictures, ah..i love this season!

A very EARLY Merry Christmas to everyone!!!!!
:santa2: :tree: :cc:

I was looking for a Halloween costume on Thursday night and I almost decided to dress in Christmas garb because most of the stuff in the stores was Christmas and not Halloween!

I'm actually excited about Christmas this year because I'll be in San Diego where it's (hopefully) sunny and warm! This will be the first year that we've gone out of town for Christmas and I cannot wait!

I cannot wait to break out all my Harry Connick Jr Christmas CD's (and other ones) and I'm definitely buying his newest one! He does a duet with his daughter. Awww!

Woody: "I think if you check the calender Sam, you'll find it's always on December 25th".

I'm sorry to hear this. It's hard to be without loved ones at Christmastime. :(

Very well-said! Those are my favorite things to do as well! especially looking at Christmas lights and the movie marathons!

I think it is still a little early to be getting excited about Christmas. It is still
22 days until Thanksgiving.

I love all of it as well- mostly the season itself, the music, putting up decorations and the feeling you get from the whole experience.
