Emmy-Winner Sela Ward stars with Tom Everett Scott in this gripping new drama series that dare asks the question "what happens when love gets dangerous"? Sela Ward stars as Stacey Williamson Clark a fifty-two year old widower who after three years of being single believes she has finally found the man with whom she wishes to spend the remainder of her life and move on. Tom Everett Scott plays Holden Clark, the thirty nine year old man with whom Stacey finds herself in love with. Characters:

Sela Ward as Stacey Williamson Clark: At Forty nine years old Stacey Williamson's life was shattered when her husband of nearly twenty-five years, Hal Williamson died of advanced lung cancer. Leaving her alone to support her twenty three year old son Simon who is autistic. Having spent the last twenty years as a stay at home mother; Stacey hasn't set foot inside an office since before computers were commonplace and hasn't been in a classroom as a student since Gerald Ford was president. Six months ago, Stacey met Holden Clark and in an instant knew she found the man she wanted to spend the remainder of her life with and with whom she could trust co-parenting her son, Simon who requires round the clock supervision and imense patience. She never intended to remarry but after Holden swept her off her feet she relented and agreed to become his wife. If only she had known than that the sweet, kind, patient man she fell in love with was not at all who Holden was as a husband.

Tom Everett Scott as Holden Clark: At Thirty Nine, Holden Clark has lived a life most would dream of. He was Valdevictorian of his class at Princeton University in 1988 and started a successful construction business and had two beautiful daughters and a loving wife in Allison Harper Clark. In 2005 his life stopped when for reasons unknown to him (at least none he would admit too) Alison filed for divorce and successfully won sole legal and physical custody of their two daughters, Marissa and Bridget. He hasn't seen any of the three since and has done a pretty good job of moving on from that pain and hurt inside him. He met Stacey Williamson six months ago and knew she was the key to his happiness and the key to winning back custody of his daughters.

Katherine Higel as Allison Harper Clark: Allison was a fighter from the day she was born; she was born still-born but was revived by doctors and in a medical miracle suffered no permanant damage whatsoever. When she was ten her mother died and her father remarried; her new step-mother was a cold hearted witch and used to beat her; her father never believed her and she went to live with her grandmother at age fourteen, her grandmother died of a heart attack a year later and she had to go back to her father and step-mother, where the beatings grew worse. At age sixteen she had enough and was legally emancipated and moved out on her own; shortly thereafter she met Holden Clark who at the time was a student at Princeton University studying business administration and finance. They dated for a short three months before marrying in a couthouse ceremony. Allison was two months pregnant when the first beating from Holden started and she lost that baby when he threw her down a flight of stairs. Despite knowing what was happening was wrong Allison stayed with Holden for another fifteen years and had two children with him before she finally divorced him in 2005. She and her girls have not seen Holden ever since she won sole physical and legal custody. Two weeks ago she was stunned when she opened the newspaper and saw a announcement that Holden was getting remarried to a woman with an autistic son. She knew in her heart that she had to do something.

Tyne Daly as Claudine Fitzgerald Williamson: At age 72 Claudine has lived a full, productive life; yes she's made her share of mistakes but she's come through it all wiser and stronger. She loves her daugther Stacey more than anyone else in this world and was a solid support system when Stacey's husband Hal died. She was just as happy as Stacey was when Holden proposed, but was rightfully worried because she sensed something wasn't quite right with her future son-in-law, but she had no idea just how not right things are.

Lacey Chabert as Marissa Clark: At sixteen year old Marrisa Clark is the classic child of divorce, she is nuerotic to the core, seeks the approval of men in all the wrong ways and has a tendancy to fall for bad boys that mistreat her and show her no respect. She's had three miscarriages and two abortions since she was fourteen and has been hospitalized for various injuries upwards of six times in the last two years. She is currently dating Roger Hesser a popular football player at her school who she's been seeing for nearly three years now, their relationship is anything but steady and is the cause of much friction between Marissa and her mother. Marissa knows that Roger isn't the most respectful guy in the world but believes she can change him and thinks if he hits her it's a sign of his never-ending love, her mother has tried in vain to warn her and get her away from him but nothing she says or does seems to make a difference. Marissa is currently pregnant and this time she believes she will carry the baby to term and that her and Roger will raise it together. he of course has other plans.

Evan Rachel Wood as Bridget Clark: If Marissa is the wild child in the family than Bridget is the total oppisette a good girl that spends far too much time in books and doing schoolwork and who hasn't been on many dates at all. Though she is the older daughter at age seventeen, she acts more like a fifteen year old always wearing pink and spending anytime she's not studying reading gossip magazines and playing with make-up. She knows a lot about her mothers life but has never told anyone exactly how much she knows and how she knows it.

Ryan Merriman as Simon Williamson: Simon is eighteen years old and has autisim spectrum disorder, he falls on the end of the spectrum that is very sever, he is book smart but has no common sense and is petrified to speak to other people and has a series of habits he needs to do in the same order every day to feel comfortable. He has few friends of his own and considers his mother his best friend and biggest source of comfort.

David Gallagher as Roger Hesser: Roger is sixteen and the star of the school football team at Wilson County High School in Wilson County, California. He is a boy full of rage and terror inside. His girlfriend is Marissa Clark and their relationship is anything but amicable; he has routinely cheated on her, beats her on a daily basis and has once even attempted to rape her. While being with her she's gotten pregnant five times and is on her sixth pregnancy with him; this is the only one that has made it past three months. Roger is also a habitual drug addict and alcholic. He has many issues to solve and has almost nobody to give him that support. His only family is his equally abusive mother Marj, who is as much a drug user as he is.

Ally Mills as Marj Hesser: Marj is forty-five years old and is a single mother (she never knew who Roger's father was, as he was conviced during a drug induced weekend where she slept with many partners) and is a habitual drug user and alcholic. Because of her drug use and drinking the only job she can hold down is that as a janitor at a local supermarket, however she is routinely late for that job as well and has on more than one occassion shown up to work high or drug. She and Roger live on welfare and food stamps in a trailer parker on the roughest side of town.
