View Full Version : Sylvia's Butt

If you go almost to the bottom of this page, you will find a thread by me called "Two Sexy Rears". This post was about my fondness for the site of Katie and Julie in pants! Wow! Right before I started this thread, I looked over the board and saw that that post had forty-four views and zero responses. Almost three hours ago, I started another thread called "Older Women". This thread had four views and zero responses. This thread was about other females besides Hazel Shermet who I thought looked great in their later years. The women who I mentioned are Blythe Danner, Christine Baranski and Cynthia Harris. Just in case you do not know, Cynthia Harris played Paul's mother Sylvia in "Mad About You". In any event, one time that I really appreciated her appearance was when she was wearing designer jeans and her back was to the audience! The view was terrific! In any event, I would now like to tell you guys about a double-meaning reference that I have mentioned on a bunch of other pages of this site. On "Mad About You", I would say that the babes who played Jamie and Fran were hot stuff and the ones who played Lisa and Sylvia were not far behind. Having said that, I would like to give the word "behind" a double meaning having seen Sylvia in her jeans and enjoyed every minute of it!

Yeah, I used to be one of the biggest posters on here, I haven't posted in so long, but whenever I visit I see Smartboy with like 12 different posts, all on Hazel. Even if she isn't the topic of the post, once you open the link you see her name.

ONE POST IS ENOUGH SMARTBOY! I mean, I know who you are talking about, she was on a few of the early episodes as a guest star like in The Emergency and Mom's Birthday, I forget if she was in any others. But you keep mentioning her and all these different shows she was on now. Just wait for responses on the posts and take it from there, you keep making too many new posts on the actress and they are not really being responded to.

What you could do is you could just add to that first post you made on her, and have all those new posts on her as responses to that first post, that way it will all be together in 1 link. You have that minor character actress in so many posts, and most of the time when I see your posts it's always mentoning her.

It would clean things up a lot on the board, but I guess you can go about it any way you want.

Like you can make one post titled "Hazel Shermet" and have all those new posts you made on her as responses, as if you said "I did some researching and..." and just add your responses to build up one clean page of responses on her. That way there won't be so many individual posts on her.

The first thing that I would like to say is that I completely understand where the two respondees are coming from! I have been written to several times about my obsession with Hazel Shermet! I know that a lot of people are tired of reading about her. However, one thing that I am quite curious about is why the two of you picked this thread to make that case! Hazel, in fact had very little to do with the point of this post! The main purpose of this thread was to let you guys in on a play on words regarding the behind of Cynthia Harris. Like I mentioned in my initial post, she was the babe who played Paul's mother Sylvia on "Mad About You". I posted a similar message on that page but got no responses. In between the time that I posted it there and the time that I posted it here, I have told my buddies about this double-meaning on the pages of Will and Grace, Friends and Caroline in the City. The fact that I felt comfortable posting it on those pages is because those sereis also feature women with nice looking behinds! The only reason that I mentioned Hazel at all here was that, in my opinion she, like Cynthia looked great as an older woman. I also compared Cynthia to Katie and Julie from this sereis in terms of being females that have butts that look great in jeans! There were a lot of other posts in which Hazel had a much more significant part that you could have responded to. Even "Larry the Forgotten" which I posted quite recently would have been a good choice. The main theme of this post was Hazel's late husband who did a lot of work on this show as well as a bunch of other sitcoms.

While I have this thread open, I would like to respond to something that was said by the second respondee. This poster said that he or she knows who Hazel is and that she appeared on the two first-season episodes known as "The Emergency" and "Mom's Birthday". Just so you will know, there is one more episode that she appeared in. This episode was from the second season and it was called "Nell Goes Door to Door". She played a lady at a party whose skirt got sucked up by a vacuum clearner!

Actually, it seemed like an interesting post topic, so when I opened it I just saw her name and the responder saying you were perverted. I just replied saying that you did post a lot about her in those others posts where it's all about her and you could have just used those new posts on her as responses to the subject on her, that way there wouldn't be all those single posts just on her.

The first thing that I would like to do is say how flattered I am to have gotten a response so quickly! I would be very interested in whether this poster is at all familiar with Cynthia Harris and the parts that she has played. At this point in time, it has been months since anyone other then me has posted on the "Mad About You" page!

I would now like to elaborate on another older women who I mentioned in my original post. Is anyone out there a fan of Christine Baranski? I have posted messages about her on the "Brady Bunch" page because she made a guest appearacne on that sereis when she was a teenager. I would say that, just like Hazel and Cynthia, she looks great as an older woman! In addition to this, I think that, just like Julie from this sereis, she looks like dynomite in boots! Has anyone reading this post seen the "Mamma Mia!" movie? I thought that it was superb! I am crazy about the music of ABBA! For the longest time, "Dancing Queen" has been my favorite song! In recent years it has been topped only by "The Power in my Purse". This is a rap song that was featured in another movie in which the lovely Christine made an appearance!

By the title of this thread, most people would be able to figure out that I like females with nice looking butts! I would say that Katie and Julie from this show certaintly fit into that catogory! In the last thread that I brought to the top of the page, I mentioned a time that Julie looked very sexy moving her butt when she was dancing! Wow! Well, I think that there were also some pretty sexy rears in a much more recent sereis known as "Mad About You". I am crazy about Helen Hunt! On top of this, I would say that the lady who played Jamie's friend Fran was a pretty hot number. Even though the one who played Mrs. Buchman's single sister Lisa had a much more modest appearance, I would say that she was still a site for sore eyes. And last but not least, we have Paul's mother played by Cynthia Harris. Now there is an example of a fifty-some who could really wear designer jeans! Oh baby!

After I got my first two responses to this thread, I gave a response of my own pointing out the irony of the situation! As minor a part of the post as Hazel Shermet was, the fact that I mentioned her was what people picked up on! I guess that old habit die hard. In any event, in between the time of my last post and the present moment, something else has gone on that relates to the situation. Over on the "Brady Bunch" page I posted a thread called "Sexy in Boots". The last time I checked (which was less than half an hour ago) it had five responses. The lady who I referred to as looking sexy in boots was Christine Baranski. There are two things about this babe that I would say are germain to this show. In the first place, I first developed my fondness for females in dress boots back when I was thirteen. It was this show's very own Julie Kinisky that turned me on to it! On top of this, it was Hazel Shermet who I recognized as looking hot as an older woman! I still have a very hard time swallowing the fact that she was in her sixties when she first appeared on this show! In this instance, I would say that Christine Baranski could wear two hats. In the first place, in my opinion, she looks great in her years past fifty! On top of that, she looks like a calander girl in her designer boots! By the way, the thing that makes it appropriate to write about her on the "Brady Bunch" page is the fact that she appeared in the second season episode known as the "Slumber Capers". I would be very interested in what anyone here thinks of that thread or any of its responses!

Those of you who have read the innitial part of this thread know that the Sylvia whose butt I am writing about is Paul's mother from "Mad About You". Well, over on the "Will and Grace" page of this site, I recently posted a message about a character who is, in my opinion, even hotter than Sylvia! The tread that I started is called "Ellen's Bosoms". Those of you who are familiar with the sereis probably know that Ellen and her husband Rob are friends of "Will and Grace" who live in New Jersey. This post has several responses. In any event, at four-thirty this morning, I watched a "Mad About You" rerun on TV Land. In this episode, there was a referrence to Jamie's bosoms that really made me feel giddy! At this point, you might be wondering what I would post a message on the "Will and Grace" page about a "Mad About You" episode. Well, when and if ever you read the response, you will understand!

This is the second of two threads that I am bringing to the top of this page this evening. I am doing whatever I can to stimulate some conversation about some of these fine shows! Because of how long ago I started this thread, I would like to ask a new generation of readers what they think of the double-meaning that I gave to the word behind. Also, if anyone reading this is at all familiar with "Mad About You", I would be interested in how you think that the babes on that sereis compared to the babes in this one!

While we are on the topic of people who were regular cast members on this sereis, I would like it to be known that Lauri Hendler was the one that I was head over heels for! She was such a babe! The episode that I liked her the most in was "Katie Steals Julie's Jock" and "Samantha's Protest" was a very close second. I would now like to move to the topic of babes who look great as older women. Over on the "Three's Company" page of this site, there are dozens of responses to a thread about how Suzzane Summers looks in her early sixties. At this point, she is close in age to the chicks that I wrote about when I started this thread. In the thread about her, there is all sorts of mentions about the medical technology that is making her look the way that she does. Because this seems to be a topic of interest at the time, I plan on going to several of the other pages and pull up threads about other ladies who looked good as older women. I will also go over to the "Three's Company" page and tell my buddies there about my post here!

This is the second thread regarding older women that I am bringing to the top of a page this evening. The thing that inspired me to do this was a thread on the "Brady Bunch" page of this site regarding Florance Henderson having just turned seventy-five. A lot of people think that she looks really good for her age. Because of this, I have decided to revitalize the topic of babes who I think the years have been good to. The first one that I raised to the top was on the "Will and Grace" page. In my opinion, Blythe Danner is pretty hot for a sixty-something!

Once again, you have responded in a typical and highly predictable manner! Like I mentioned before, there are some things that we can count on almost as much as death and taxes! On top of this, there is also something that I cannot help but wonder about. Is the "Gimme a Break!" page the only page that you ever visit? I would think that someone who gets as much joy as you do from making fun of me, would go to a lot of other pages that I frequent and leave his or her John Hancock there! However, I never see anything by you anywhere but here! By writing about what other pages I have posted on, I make the job very easy for you! No, I am not suggesting that you go all over the board and post insulting comments! I am just curious as to why the only page I ever see your name it here. So far today, I have not visited the "Will and Grace" page. I think that I will go to that one next and see if there is a condecending remark by you or anyone else! I am posting this message just to bring you guys up to date about what has gone on in between Florance Henderson's seventy-fifty birthday and the present. I will start by mentiontion something that happened even before this event. A short while ago, Jennifer Aniston turned forty years old. The "Friends" page has a thread that was started on the day of the event and has received several responses since then. I brought that thread up to the top of the page less than an hour ago. I then went ahead and brought to the top of that page one about how good Courteney Cox Arquette looks for a woman in her mid-forties. However, even before that, I brought to the top an old thread on the "Three's Company" page and started one on the "Mad About You" page. However, my most recent post on this site was one on the page of "Caroline in the City". Just for the record, that show's Lea Thompson was born in the same years as this show's very own Kari Michaelson. Isn't it hard to believe that in two years both babes will be turning fifty? Wow!

Like I mentioned in my last post on this board, I recently visited the Official Site of Lauri Hendler. Sure enough there was a new message posted today! This poster mentioned how good Lauri looked for her age. I am now thinking optimistically that there might be some renewed interest in discussing the attractiveness of older women. Well, the last thread that I brought to the top of this page was one that was about the topic of Lauri's Site. Well, I am now bringing this one to the top because it is about the attractiveness of babes getting on in years! The chick that I first mentioned when I started this thread was Cynthia Harris who played Paul's mother from "Mad About You". In my opinion, just like this show's Lauri Hendler and Kari Michaelson, Cynthia was one babe who could really wear jeans! For the longest time, that show's page on this site has been very slow. It has even been quite a while since anyone has viewed any of the posts. Is anyone here a fan of that show. How do you think that Helen Hunt would have done in the part of Katie? How do you think that she did in her one-time appearance on the episode known as "An Unmarried Couple"?

One thing that I have mentioned before is the fact that this show was very popular with the same generation of viewers as the "Facts of Life". Earlier in this thread, I mentoned my new tradition regarding the birthdays of older babes. Whenever one that I admire has a birthday over forty, I will bring to the tops of a lot of pages threads regarding other older women. Well, in this particular case, the chick whose birthday we are celebrating is Nancy Mckeon who played Jo from "Facts of Life". So far this evening, I have responded to the original thread regarding Nancy. I have also brought to the top of that page an old thread regarding other older chicks. Last but not least, I went to the "Friends" page and raised to the top yet another such thread. Have fun looking at them!

I also went to the "Mad About You" page and my thread is presently at the top. For those of you have have read the innitial entry of this thread, it was a character from that show whose butt I admired! Last but not least, I would like to respond to what you said about Jo being your favorite character. Mine was always Natelie. That being said, there was however one thing that I always admired about Blair. Those of you who have read other threads of mine on this page know about my weekness for babes in boots! This is the seventh thread that I am raising to the top of this page in less than twenty-four hours! Each one is really just an effort to stimulate some conversation about this fine sereis. Although I have managed to generate a few views, I have not received any responses! A lot of this is probably because of how seldom this show is shown in syndication and how little prospect there is of more seasons coming out on DVD. This is something that I feel very sad about! For those of you who are reading this post for the first time, the Sylvia whose butt I am writing about is Paul's mother from "Mad About You". In my opinion, there are two reasons that I feel that she is germain to the topic of "Gimme a Break!" In the first place, she has a rear that looks very good in jeans just like both Katie and Julie from "Gimme a Break!". On top of this, I think that she looks sexy in her later years like several of the women who have appeared on this show. Just like with this sereis, it has been weeks since anyone has posted anything on the "Mad About You" page! This reality probably also goes back to how seldom the series is shown and how few seasons there are on DVD. I think that this reality is pretty sad! Oh well!

At this point, each time I bring an old thread to the top of this page, it is really a shot in the dark in terms of what might stimulate some conversation! Those of you who have read my original post know that the Sylvia that I am writing about is Paul's mother from "Mad About You". I compared to to other babes who have sexy rears as well as other chicks who look good as older women. Incidentily, the "Mad About You" page is one that has even less action these days than this page! I recently started a thread on that page and called it "Disrespect from 'Cheers' Fans". Two people responded to that thread and then I responded to their responses. However, interested in that topic fizzled out within a day! Other pages in which no one seems to be posting on include, Friends, Will and Grace and Caroline in the City". For a while I have posted whatever I could think of that might stimulate some conversation. Little or no luck! At this point, I am really running on empty in terms of things to say about these fine sereis! Would anyone here like to kick around some theories as to why there seems to be no interest in writing about these shows from the nineties and beyond?

Because more people seem to be coming to this page now, I thought that I might have some luck in generating some responses by bringing this one up to the top. This was after I responded to three threads on the "Facts of Life" page including the one about her birthday. However, so far, there has not seemed to be too much interest in discussing it. One thread on the "Facts of Life" page is one with pictures of Mindy Cohn (Natelie Green) both now and when she was on the show. There have been a few recent responses to this thread but not about her birthday or her existance as an older babe. Maybe it will be different this time around!

I am bringing this thread to the top of the page for several reasons. In the first place, there seems to be a lot of rejuvinated interest in this particular page. Because of this, I would like to strike while the iron is hot! Also, those of you who read my original post know that the Sylvia whose butt I expressed admiration for is Paul's mother from "Mad About You". By the way, just in case anyone is interested, earlier this evening, I posted a message on that show's page. In any event, a babe who, in my opinion has an even sexier butt than Cynthia Harris (Sylvia Buchman) recently had her forty-eighth birthday. The chick who I am referring to is Lea Thompson who starred in "Caroline in the City". Is anyone here a fan of that sereis? Well, I would like to state for the record that Lea is second only to Helen Hunt in terms of being able to make me drool! For the longest time, the "Caroline in the City" page had even less action than this one. It took Lea's birthday to get someone to post. In between her birthday and the present moment, several fans (including myself) have responded to the thread wishing her a happy birthday. Just like with this show, I really wish more seasons of her series would come out on DVD! I would do almost anything to, once again, see her in her beautiful slacks swinging her rear to the beat of "Funky Town"!

This is the thread that I said that I was going to bring to the top of the page in my last post. I am doing this for two essential reasons. In the first place, one of the respondees of the last post said that he or she was a fan of "Mad About You". This is one of the few shows that I enjoyed even more than "Gimme a Break!" In any event, those of you who have read my original post on this thread know that the Sylvia who I was writing about was Paul's mother from that series. I think that she in jeans is very nice eye candy! On top of that, I compared her to a bunch of other older women in the media including some of the ones who have appeared on "Gimme a Break!" By the way, the actress who played Sylvia is Cynthia Harris. In any case, the attractiveness of older babes also seems to be a popular topic of conversation at the moment. Over on the "Will and Grace" page, there is a recent post by someone who agrees with me to Blythe Danner looks very nice for a sixty-something. Now one show whose page is still getting post after post is the "Golden Girls"! Well, some of the very recent posts on that page pertain to how good Betty White looks for a woman of 87.

This is the second and last thread that I am bringing to the top of this page in celebration of an event that I recently learned about in the "Friends" section of this site. However, after I leave for a while and then come back, if I do not have any responses or even veiws, I might experiment with bringing some other oldies but goodies up to the top. In any event, the event that I learned about is the forty-fifth birthday of actress Courteney Cox Arquette. Being that this actress played Monica from "Friends", it is very appropraite for me to be posting on this thread. This is because, the butt that I expressed admiration of belongs to the character of a show that is related to "Friends". Those of you who have watched both series carefully, know that Lisa Kudrow played Ursela from "Mad About You" as well as Pheobe from "Friends". On occasion, there was also interaction between some of the other characters of both series. The best way that I can explain the situation to people who did not watch these shows is that the two were related like "Happy Days" and "Laverne and Shirley" were related. In any event, best wishes to Courteney!

Because the last post that I made on this board was on the "Mad About You" page, I have decided that this is the thread to bring to the top of this page at the point. About five minutes ago, I started a new thread on "Mad About You" called "A Trip to Town". You would have to read the post to know what that title has to do with "Mad About You". It was really just one more effort to stimulate some conversation. Prior to the time that I posted it, I looked over all of the pages that I am interested in and only found new posts on two pages. They were in regards to the "Odd Couple" and "Facts of Life". Before my "Mad About You" thread, I posted messages in response to these two existing threads. Because this is my favorite page to post on, I find myself unable to resist bringing this thread to the top to tell you guys about it!

I have no opinion at all about the butts of any cast member of Gimme A Break considering Joey Lawrence was only a child at the time it was on the air.

But I do recall Clark Brandon doing a guest turn on Facts Of Life as Jo's boyfriend. Another episode from that season featured a military academy. I think it was a proposed spinoff, but ultimately it went nowhere. Too bad, it would have been cool to have a male counterpart to Facts of Life.

What to call it. Birds and Bees? Nah, both too outlandish and too obvious at once! Stone? Oops, that title was used already a couple years earlier and none too successfully. The Academy? Name of the episode in question, yes, but so bland. Heh, maybe that's why it never went to series, they couldn't figure out what to call it!

If you are interested in the "Facts of Life", I recently started a new thread on that page. Shortly before that I responded to an existing thread. The person who started this thread is a first-time poster. Also, judgeing by the things that you said in this post, I am guessing that you are a female. I was unable to even take a guess about what gender you were by anything that you had previously posted!

Those of you who have read my intial post when I started this thread know that the Sylvia that I was referring to is Paul's mother from "Mad About You". Well, as little action as this page has had in the recent past, that one has had even less! I have been racking my brain trying to think of ways to stimulate some conversation but have not had any success in months! This is surprising being that that show lasted seven seasons as a prime-time series and this one only lasted six. On top of that, three of seasons of that show made it to DVD in this country plus there is a special collectors edition with a bunch of classic episodes. Only two seasons of this show are on DVD anywhere in the world. I am bringing this thread to the top to ask you guys if you would like to kick around some theories about why so few people visit that particular page and why it has been so long since anyone other than me has posted on it?

By reading the message that I posted when I first started this thread, you can see that the main theme is the attractiveness of older women. Well, a while back someone posted a thread about the forty-eighth birthday of Susan Olsen on the "Brady Bunch" page. My original motive for starting this thread was to express my fondness for older women (including those who have appeared on "Gimme a Break!"). Well one older babe that I have a lot of appreciation for is Christine Baranski! When I first learned about the coming of the "Mamma Mia!" movie, I was very excited when I learned that she was going to be in it! Once the movie made it to DVD, I was sure to buy the two-disk special. Well, a few weeks ago, I reaquainted myself with it and noticed a very funny and sexy incident! It happened during the "Dancing Queen" number. You see, all four of the female parts in this movie were depicted as non-smokers. When the music started playing Tanya (Cristine Baranski) wanted the effect of the type of ciggiratte that a babe would tend to smoke in the disco error. To achieve this goal, she picked up one of Meryl Streep's character's tampons and placed it between her lips! What a sexy bunch of babes that movie had!

I have a couple of reasons for bringing this one to the top of the page. In the first place, I have noticed, in the recent past, this page is getting quite a bit of new life. This being the case, I am wondering whether some of you guys might want to give the premise of this thread a second look! The second issue, is my constant issue of celebrating the beauty of older women. It seems like quite a few of them have had birthdays within the past week or so. Over on the "Facts of Life" page, the actresses who played both Blair and Natelie have had birthdays in their forties. On top of this, the lady who played Roz on "Frasier" just turned forty-nine. Like I have stated before, my favorite actress who is in her later years now is Helen Hunt and my favorite who was already old when I first fell for her is Hazel Shermet. However, in order to understand how special these two chicks are, I have to keep myself open to the beauty of a lot of different older women. That is why I am now recognizing the birthdays of these three beautiful older babes!

Last night, I spent hours racking my brain trying to stimulate some conversation about this fine show! I started a new thread and brought three oldies but goodies to the top of the page. Now I will try (yet again) to see what I can do by bringing this stand-by thread to the top. I guess that it has been about a week since someone posted a thead on the "Brady Bunch" page about a fifty-three year old Maureen McCorrmick in a bakini! Pictures of her had been uploaded and they were awesome! Before I leave the topic of bakinis, does anyone remember the time when Katie went rushing to the mall to get to a sale on designer bikinis? It was in the second season episode "Julie Smokes". In any event, I would now like to mention two more attractive older women who came to mind in the recent past. Although neither of them ever appeared on "Gimme a Break!" I thought some of you might want to discuss them anyway. One is someone that I am mentioning for the first time on this page and the other is one that I am mentioning for the first time anywhere on this board. They are Meryl Streep and Pamela Reed. Is anyone here a fan of either one? I think that they are both pretty hot!

I have recently learned something new about the older female community that I think is a great reason to raise this thread to the top of the page! In among my posts about older women on this page and countless others, I have mentioned how, in one more year, three that I admire will be turning the half-century mark. One of these three is Kari Michaelson who played Katie Kinisky on this series. The other two are Julie Louis-Dreyfus and Lea Thompson. Well, over on the "Brady Bunch" page, I read that Susan Olsen who played Cindy on that series just turned forty-nine. Now if she turned forty-nine this year, that means that she will be fifty the same time as the other three! Kari, Julie, Lea and Susan. What a quartet!

As most of you know, my main motive for starting this thread was to express my fondness for older women. As implied in the original post, the woman who first turned me on to older babes was Hazel Shermet. As I have mentioned on a bunch of threads, information about her is very hard to find. Well, in an interview that I watched on "Youtube" she said that she was born in 1920. Well, I have since gotten reaquainted with two of the very few sites on the Internet that have any information about her. Someone has since added her a supposed birth date to both sites. On these sites it has her birthday listed as August 1st 1921! If any of you would like to read more about my observation about this inconsistency, you can go to the "Facts of Life" page of this site. The most recent thread is by me and it is called "Two Possible Dates". Have fun!

Back when I first posted this thread, I gave a double-meaning to the word "behind". It was really just supposed to be a fun thing. However, in between then and now, the thread has gone off in all different directions with all of these different responses! In any event, I would now like to tell you guys about a comment on You Tube that had to do with a double-meaning. Less than a day ago, I watched the video for Kenny Rogers' "Buried Treasure". For those of you who do not know, if was from his album "Eyes that See in the Dark". This recording was produced in 1983. Incidentially, this was the year that the third season of "Gimme a Break!" began. Right under the place where this thread will be when I press the submit button is a thread that I started regarding the episode "Samantha's Protest". This was a third season episode. However, by the time that this episode was shown, it was already 1984. In any event, another poster posted a comment about how he or she considered the upload of that classic song a true "Burried Treasure"! I felt that, since we were on the topic of double-meanings, it would be the perfect opportunity to let my friends there in on the double-meaning regarding the sexy rear of the character of Sylvia Buchman from "Mad About You"! Ever since I was eleven years old, I have had a big weakness for sexy female rears! Especially the way they move when the girl or lady is dancing! I got to appreciate many sexy rears during my years watching "Gimme a Break!"! Oh baby!

Oh criminy, the first thing I did was go back to page one and started skimming and then saw my original post, which I'd forgotten about. "Oh, huh, I posted in this thread, did I?" Kept reading, reading...eh, well, skim-skim-skim-skim...then finally caught up to now and saw you were addressing me. Kept myself in suspense. ;)

My old moniker is one I used at a band message board that had been put up in conjunction with a new album release--11 years ago. The board was only up for about three months before being removed, a victim of unbridled flaming.

I continued to register at other boards with the same handle for a number of years, but my interests/activities moved on over the course of a decade. My interest in vintage TV extends beyond its programming to its technology. Exactly the opposite of most posters here, I am most likely to be found watching a new TV program on an old TV set (see my avatar). My current handle refers to my website (http://tvontheporch.com/index.html) which shows off my collection and details some of the restoration work I have done on the sets.

Thank you very much for that very informative reply! I am so happy to see that, after all of my efforts to stimulate some conversation on this board, I have finally had some success! Now I would like to tell you about why I had originally brought this thread to the top of this page. You see, by reading the first post of this thread, you know that the Sylvia that I was writing about was Paul's mother from "Mad About You". Incidentially, "Mad About You" is one of the very few shows that I enjoyed and miss even more than "Gimme a Break!"! In any event, the character of Sylvia Buchman was played by Cynthia Harris. In my opinion, she is one fine actress with one very sexy rear end! Well, before I came to this site for the evening, I watched a music video on You Tube called "Sara Sylvia Cynthia Stout!". Before I came here, I went to the "Mad About You" page and wrote about my amazement of the fact that one song title contained both the name of an actress that makes me drool and the character that she plays! Because the Sylvia that started the whole thing was the Sylvia whose butt I wrote about in my innitial post, I decided to to bring this thread to the top and tell you guys about my new thread over there. The last time I checked, my thread on that page had seven views and zero replies. Just for the record, in between the time that I left this page and the present, I started a new thread on the "Caroline in the City" page of this site. That thread is called "A Tale of Two Red Heads". The two red heads that I was referring to are Lea Thompson from that series and Lauri Hendler from this one. In my opinion, those two babes are about equal to each other and very close behind "Mad About You's" Helen Hunt in the departments of sexiness, decency and sophistication! Bye!

By seeing the number of views, I can tell that the fans are still around. Because of this, I have decided to raise this thread to the top to see if I can start some conversation.

The fact that I originally gave this thread the title that I did was for the sake of shock value. I thought that the boldness of the title might intrigue users to come on in and see what I would on about. As it turns out, in the early days of this post, a bunch of people did post replies in attempts to make fun of me and even be sarcastic and downright rude. But life goes on! In any event, it has been months since anyone other than me has posted anything on this page. A few days ago, I went as far as posting a thread titled "Katie's Crotch"! Just like this one, I thought that the shock value of the title might inspire people do respond. Although that thread got a bunch of views, it did not get any replies. In between then and now, I have started two new threads neither of which got any responses. Now I am raising this one to the top of the page wondering whether a new crop of posters will raise their eyebrows at the title and be inspired to come on in! Only time will tell what will become of the situation!

It seemed that, for a while, things were picking up a little bit on this page. In an attempt to stimulate some more conversation, I decided to start bringing some of my old favorites to the top of the page. So far, I have done this with four old posts. At this point, none of them have any new replies. Now I would like to see what happens when this one reaches the top!

The fact that I am raising this thread to the top of the page has to do with a "Flintstone" upload that I recently watched on You Tube. The first thing that you have to understand is that, the Sylvia whose butt I wrote about when I first started this thread was Paul's mother from "Mad About You" played by Cynthia Harris. You would have to read the post itself to understand what it has to do with "Gimme a Break!". In any event, in the top comments section of this "Flintstone" upload someone who I think was female posted a message that included a very cute play on words. This reminded me of my own attempts at humor when I gave the word "behind" a double-meaning on this page. Because the woman whose behind I wrote about was a character from "Mad About You" that was the first page that I went to after watching the video. The "Mad About You" page of this site has been a dead zone for well over a year. I posted a thread about this experience and called it "Sugar Coated Cereal". Let us see if this thread livens things up a little bit! I am now telling you guys about it just to get my finger in another pot! Bye!

Because a lot of people seem to be on this page at the moment, I have decided to see if I could stimulate even more conversation by bringing this old thread to the top of the page. If you read my initial post, you know that the Sylvia that I was referring to is Paul's mother from "Mad About You". I believe that she would have been 59 years old when the episode that I wrote about was made. I thought that she looked really hot for her age! You would have to read the whole post to understand what she or her situation had to do with "Gimme a Break!". While, I am on the topic of a character from "Mad About You", I would like to mention, that I have worked every bit as hard to stimulate some conversation on that page as I have on this one. It has been months since I have had any success! My guess would by that this is mainly because it has been years since that show was on any of the major syndication networks and years since any new DVDs have been released. One of my attempts to get things going on that page has been by telling my buddies there about the amount of action this page has been getting. That has not worked either!

Given how far down the page this post has been pushed, I decided to see what would happened if I brought it to the top. For those of you who are relatively new to this site, the Sylvia that this page is about is Paul's mother from "Mad About You" played by Cynthia Harris. I think that she is quite a lady! Especially when she wear's designer jeans! One thing that some of you might already know is that most if not all of the episodes of "Three's Company" have recently been uploaded on to You Tube. Some of them more then once. Some research that I did about a year ago caused me to learn that the same actress made a one-time appearance as Larry's boss's wife in the third-season episode "Jack Movies Out". I watched that episode a few days ago and have posted several comments regarding it. I have also learned that the same lady played the part of Mrs. B. in the commercials for Bradley's department store which has since gone out of business. Next year, this woman turns eighty years old! You would have to read the first post on this thread to understand what any of this has to do with "Gimme a Break!". Have fun!

In the first place, I am very happy to see that you find amusement in this poster's reply. Now I would be very interested in knowing if you are at all familiar with Cynthia Harris. If so, what do you think of her? On top of that, what do you think of my double-meaning of the word "behind" that I used in my initial post?

Are you at all familiar with the series known as "Mad About You"? It is my favorite show ever! It stars Paul Reiser and Helen Hunt. On a side note, Helen Hunt is my favorite actress in the whole world! She is one of the few females who does an even better job of making me drool than Lauri Hendler who played Julie from this show! On another side-note, before the part of Katie from this series was given to Kari Michaelsen, Helen Hunt was considered for the part. In any event, Paul's mother Sylvia was played by Cynthia Harris. Before that, Cynthia played Mrs. B. in the commercials for Bradley's discount department stores. And even before that, she had a one-time appearance on a third-season episode of "Three's Company". Like I mentioned earlier in this sitting, you would have to look at my initial post in this thread to understand what any of this has to do with "Gimme a Break!". Have fun doing the research!

I have never seen an episode of Mad About You.
I googled a picture of Cynthia Harris, and I do remember her from the Three's Company episode as the horny housewife who hired Jack to cook for her and her husband. She was playing footsie with Jack while she was eating chicken.

I am happy to know that we are now on the same page regarding who Cynthia Harris is. If you would like to reacquaint yourself who the "Three's Company" episode that she was in, it is up on You Tube. Also, if you are interested in learning about "Mad About You" there is plenty of information about it on the Internet. On top of that, a lot of episodes of this series are also up on You Tube. If you decide to acquaint yourself with "Mad About You", after you have done so, you can check out my many posts on that show's page of this site. I would be very interested in knowing what you think of them!

It seems that things are slowing down again on this page. The novelty of this series having come back to prime-time is long over. I just thought I would bring this post up from page two and see if people might want to comment on the many interactions I have had with other posters once upon a time. On top of that, there is the chance that some newcomers will come to this page. I figure that if someone is here for the first time, he or she might be taken in by the shock value of the title. Let us see what happens!

This is the second thread that I am bringing to the top of this page during this sitting. It seems that, for a while, I was able to stimulate some conversation with two other posters. However, the novelty of that situation was very short-lived. You will find that, two posts below this one, there is a thread by me that does not have any replies so far. I am wondering whether the shock value of this thread might spark the interest of a newcomer to the page to the point to where he or she feels inclined to come on in. Only time will tell!

It seemed as if, for a while, conversation was picking up a little bit on this page. I did what I could to keep up my end of whatever conversations were going on. However, I have now bleed dry anything that I had to say about anything that was being discussed. I decided to be a passive observer for a while. At this point, things have stagnated again. This being the case, I have decided to bring this thread up to the top. The original point of this thread was to discuss the attractiveness that some older women possess. If anyone here would like to write about older women who have appeared on "Gimme a Break!" or any other show that you watch that you find attractive, I would really enjoy hearing from you.
