It takes so shockingly long for these seasons to be released. It's really a shame. It makes one wonder if the companies that own the rights to some of the classic shows are only driven by the bottom line.

Sony possibly has said nothing about the sales of the DVDs. But maybe someone who understands the numbers can determine if Sony SHOULD have been happy with the sales of season one.

Well, from reports I've heard (not that the sources are rock solid), it has sold pretty well, especially given the lack of any true advertising or promotion from Sony.

I also happen to think that companies like Sony better get moving on DVDs while they can still make some money off them. Nowadays you can watch a lot of TV shows online, so it won't be long before you can just purchase individual episodes or entire seasons online. I personally prefer to just purchase DVDs because of the nice packaging, but for shows you can't get, better to have some option than none.

I hope they get moving on the later seasons. I want to see the Clayton/Pete/Denise era!!

Sony always takes forever between seasons, the bottom line is the ONLY thing that matters to them, and they will never even HINT at any sales figures.

My guess would be it may depend on how Benson's sales compare to the sales of other series they own the rights too. Judging by what I've seen on thier site ( some really weak shows ), sooner or later they should release the rest of the series.
It's obvious Sony has their own unusual sense of time, they still have Benson Season One listed under new releases! :whatever:
