I have a few things to say..
1. Congrats to Tampa, you guys gave us a HELL of a run, and congrats to your fans.
2. Best of luck to the Cubs, Rays, Red Sox, Yankees, Mariners and White Sox & anybody else I forgot to mention, next year. Boston because they are the team of a friend of mine on here, Janice. Cubs because I just want them to win, they have passionate, respectable fans. Honestly I don't route 100% for another team besides the Phils, but It would be awesome for the Cubs to win it next year, best of luck to you! I just love the White Sox too, Ozzy is a spark plug of a manager for that team and I just hope that do well for Chi Town as well. The Yankees, I have respect for them. I went to a game last year, before the closing of Yankees Stadium at the end of this season. And I have to say, not liking any Mets fans, I respect the NYY fans and feel they are true fans. Cheers to them. Tampa because they gave us a run for our money and they have a great team. I have a lot of respect for Mr. Joe Maddon.
sorry for the long read ^, oh and most of this, I have felt before we won the championship, but I held some of it back. Oh and Seattle because Ramona is a good friend of mine.
With that being said, I know (sort of) know what a championship feels like...as I am still basking in the wonderful moments, and still will be all off-season :lol: :lol:
3. Everybody enjoy the regular season or should of, because we are looking at 4 1/2/5 months of no "america's past-time" or baseball to look forward to. Even before the playoffs started, I loved just watching a game, even if the Phils weren't on, to catch the game and it was something special to catch your attention for a few hours with nothing else on TV.....
4. I hope MLB and it's staff settles some of the questionable things during the season.
4a. The instant replay. I know Selig started this so credit is due but they should use more instant replays, despite the game's being long already. Anybody else agree? The questionable home run calls or no calls were bad enough.
4b. Gotta settle the season dispute. Fans, anchors and reporters etc. are saying shorten the season to 154 games or maybe a little less. I disagree. I think you just start the regular season a week or two earlier, or eliminate some of the time off. EXAMPLE. The Phillies had a week off from the end of the NLCS to the World Series. That's 4 days you can cut off, that would eliminate and get rid of problems with rain, snow, bad weather and timing etc.
How about THAT?
I will post more later, I thought I would just post some of my thoughts on the season. I will recap as well later. Thoughts on shortening the season, instant-replays and everything else I mentioned?
