Hollow 10-29-2008, 03:31 AM i haven't dressed up for halloween in years, but i've decided to be this moron (http://citizenceleb.wordpress.com/2008/10/24/mccain-supporter-attacked-hoax). should be very easy to do. LuLu Rogers 10-29-2008, 03:47 AM I'll be helping out with the carnival at our church on Thursday night, if I can find a pair of camo pants I plan to go as a M*A*S*H doctor ;) No idea what I'll be doing on Halloween. TJL 10-29-2008, 07:09 AM ^ Nice costume idea. ;) I don't have any plans. My nephew's birthday is on Saturday (Nov 1) so I'm in NJ for the weekend. I'll probably head to New Jersey on Friday, since the city tends to get a little crazy if Halloween falls on a weekend. I'll probably hang out at home with the folks and eat the candy my mother bought for the trick or treaters. Sweet... Brad Russ 10-29-2008, 09:33 AM so, what are everyones plans? To turn all my lights off, and pretend I'm not home. sunshinefizzy 10-29-2008, 09:35 AM I'm going to dress up as a hooker and pass out candy with my mom while my dad and brother's go to my grandpa's house. phoebe7165 10-29-2008, 09:51 AM To turn all my lights off, and pretend I'm not home. I used to do that when I was living in an apartmant and hated everybody in the apt complex. Alot of them lived off the state(which I have no problem with if you really need it). Well, that meant that they would be up at all hours of the night, being loud, and annoying those of us who actually had a job and had to be up early for it!! But ever since I got my house, I go all out for Halloween. I decorate my house, alot of times a little too much!!:D For the past few years, I've been making up goody bags for the kids with candy and party favors. So that's what I'll be doing again this year!! I hope to have a really good turn-out this year since it's on Fri. night and the kids can be out a little later. browneyes106 10-29-2008, 12:45 PM I have to work on Saturday morning so me and a couple of friends are going to watch The Haunting of Molly Hartley in the theaters. TripperFan 10-29-2008, 01:21 PM To turn all my lights off, and pretend I'm not home. I had to do that last year and we got egged. Since I had to miss Halloween last year, and it's one of my favourite holidays, I'm planning on doing it up big this year. I'm going out this afternoon to buy more supplies, and plan to decorate the house in a "Welcome To My Nightmare" theme a la Alice Cooper. Then I'll dress up as Alice while handing out candy to the kiddies. There's a ton of kids in my new area so I'm planning a lot. Frank is even planning on coming over and will bring the dogs with him. Bailey is dressing as Jack Sparrow (a costume I bought last year but didn't get the chance to use) and Eeka will be a lumberjack. Frank is also bringing some wine with him for us to sip on during the evening so I'm really looking forward to it. *Pleasant Tomorrow* 10-29-2008, 04:27 PM Working at the Halloween dance, dealing with drunk kids. Fun. I only have to work half so I can attend the rest if I want, but I don't plan on it. Dancing with drunk kids doesn't sound appealing to me. I do have a cute female mobster costume, though. I'll post pics. :) AB 10-29-2008, 06:13 PM The company my husband works for is having a costume party friday night. We may go to it, but probably won't dress up. Half the people who attend don't wear costumes. But its fun to see the crazy outfits some of those people come up with. catlover79 10-29-2008, 07:09 PM I volunteered at our church's Halloween party for the kids on Sunday, and there will be a costume contest at work which I will dress up for. Here are some pictures of my nephew and I from Sunday: Number 9 Dream 10-29-2008, 08:31 PM I'm probably going to a haunted house with some friends and *may* attempt to trick-or-treat at a few houses if I'm feeling bold enough (at 26 years old, lol). I'll be dressed as Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz this year :) Brad Russ 10-29-2008, 08:47 PM I had to do that last year and we got egged. I've sort of hid out on Halloween for the last couple years now, and somehow we've been able to avoid an egging. Hopefully that will continue this year. I don't know though, I may get into the spirit and pass out some candy. The good part of that is that our house never gets many trick or treaters, so I'll get to eat all the leftovers. ;) PunkyP0WER 10-29-2008, 08:53 PM I volunteered at our church's Halloween party for the kids on Sunday, and there will be a costume contest at work which I will dress up for. Here are some pictures of my nephew and I from Sunday: First you 2 are too cute!! Second I wore that same exact nose and ear headband to answer my door to trick or treaters last year. I dressed all in black and then put the nose and headband on. Great minds think alike! As far as Halloween goes I will be answering the door to trick or treaters. I wanted to dress as Punky Brewster to greet them but don't think todays kids will know who I am. They'll probably think I'm color blind or just have bad taste! So I'll most likely end up in the cat outfit again. Casual is cool, but I want to look all styling and profiling for a change. :) DLevine2 10-29-2008, 09:26 PM I will go to a Halloween Party hopefully at a mexican restaurant or one of the public bars on Friday. If I go I will wear my Halloween T-shirt. It's still up from last year??!!;) I wish I could do that but I like to decorate for the other holidays, too, so they come down Nov.1st and up go the Thanksgiving decorations. Yes, I actually have TURKEY LIGHTS!! I'm the crazy woman on the block that's always putting up different lights all year around! Well, I don't know if my neighbors think that. DLevine2 10-30-2008, 12:28 PM I'm in a new neighborhood. It's hard for me to tell if I'm going to have trick-or-treaters or not. I just moved two weeks ago. They start selling the stuff in August now. Anytime it falls on a Friday or Saturday night it's even bigger because of more parties for the adults. I really got into it when I worked for a greeting card company since it was part of our business (and we had an American parent company). We actually had department decorating contests and individual costume contests - parades, the lunch menu would be horror themed, the whole bit. We had so much fun. You know those little soundboards with a speaker that they put in magazines? They activate and make a sound when you turn a page? Well, my roommate likes to remove those things and hide it somewhere in the apartment, usually taping it inside a drawer or cabinet, so when I open something, it trips the switch and it makes a noise. He got me good the other night. I opened the medicine cabinet and a recorded shriek greeted me. Scared the crap out of me. Just taped it underneath his laptop. When he moves it... I hope he doesn't drop his laptop. ;) catlover79 10-30-2008, 06:55 PM ^ Thank you!! :D Let us know how the prank goes. AB 10-30-2008, 07:10 PM I volunteered at our church's Halloween party for the kids on Sunday, and there will be a costume contest at work which I will dress up for. Schmoopie 11-01-2008, 03:58 AM First of all, I have to say that everyone's displays and costumes are great! I'm making that a blanket statement so that I don't forget anyone! We had a lot of people dress up at work and these three girls dressed like "thugs". This one woman totally looked like a guy! It was freaky! I went in the bathroom once and one of those "guys" was in there and I had to do a double take, wondering if I had gone into the wrong one! My husband and I came home from work and greeted the trick or treaters. We usually just leave a bowl of candy outside our front door and then go to the movies, but this year we ended up staying home for a while. It was fun, really. We had a big turnout. We had bought four bags of candy from Dollar Tree and they were gone within an hour or so. Good for us; that way we won't be eating them ourselves! We ended up going out to eat, but couldn't really find anything worth paying a fortune to see, so maybe we'll do the movie thing tomorrow night. Actually we have plenty to watch around here; Have to squeeze in one last viewing of "The Great Pumpkin" before we have to retire it for another year! I had a pretty nice Halloween. Last night I was panicking because I couldn't find a costume to wear and all of a sudden it dawned on me. Fortunately it was a big hit! I promise to post some pictures ASAP! A great one to do to him, would be to tape some Limburger cheese to the underside of his bed or nightstand. He won't have a clue where the smell is coming from and it constantly smells like dirty gym socks!
