Former Guns N' Roses rocker Slash has given the band's long-awaited comeback album the thumbs up.

The guitarist quit Guns N' Roses in 1996 after falling out with frontman Axl Rose while the pair worked on the LP - which has taken 14 years to hit stores. As Rose prepares for its November 24th release, Slash - now a member of super-group Velvet Revolver - responded positively when played a track from the disc on a Boston, Massachusetts radio station this week.

He told WBCN 104.1 listeners, "That sounds cool. It's good to hear (Axl Rose's) voice again, y'know?"

lets hope there'll be a reunion in our lifetimes. If Eddie Van Halen and David Lee Roth can tour for a year and not kill each other, I think so can Axl and Slash

Even though I don't think that Axl should be calling his new band Guns N' Roses and instead should bill it as an Axl solo album, I am still interested in what the music is going to sound like. I bought the first Velvet Revolver CD out of the same curiousity, though I ended up not really liking it all that much.

I'm the same way. I loved GNR in the day, and did like a lot of stuff from STP's first few albums, but together, I didn't think the results were all that hot
