View Full Version : I Love The Beatles Purffin 10-27-2008, 06:55 PM Here is our Beatles Tribute thread. What songs, etc. do u love about The Beatles , post here. Helter Skelter Rocks:rock: I Love this song. catlover79 10-27-2008, 07:11 PM Yes, the Beatles still ROCK!! MusicJunkie 10-27-2008, 07:32 PM all their stuff is good IMO, but I admit to having a preference for the Rubber Soul+onward material, although the roots are planted with the Help soundtrack. I think it's here where they really began to set aside from the pack and the individual talents of Lennon, McCartney and Harrison began to stand out. tv star collector 10-27-2008, 07:56 PM The Fab Four were the "best band in the land" (to borrow Ringo's words). No doubt about it. Each member of the group carved out a successful solo career. What other band can that be said about? That's an indication of just how talented those four lads from Liverpool were. They have become the yardstick that every band since is measured against. As for my personal favorites: Favorite album: Rubber Soul Favorite songs: "Yesterday" (sung by Paul), "In My Life" (sung by John), "Something" (sung by George), "Yellow Submarine" (sung by Ringo) I loved their records, movies, even the Saturday morning cartoon (which they really had nothing to do with). I have a big collection of Beatle memorabilia and an even bigger collection of Beatle memories. Yeah, yeah, yeah! They made history. I never got to see them in person, but I was with them in spirit. phoebe7165 10-27-2008, 08:02 PM Wow, where do I begin?! Love the Beatles, too!! The only three Bealtes songs that I don't like are "I Want to Hold Your Hand", "Yellow Submarine" and "Revolution #9". He said, "Compare us to Bonanza." Purffin 10-31-2008, 10:29 PM I like the sitar in Norweigen Wood. I think its a sitar. tv star collector 11-01-2008, 08:43 AM I like the sitar in Norweigen Wood. I think its a sitar. Yes, George Harrison plays the sitar on "Norwegian Wood." He was much more than a singer of silly love songs (or "wimpy ballads," as you call them). He also sang "Long Tall Sally," "I'm Down," "Helter Skelter," "Rocky Raccoon," and "Maxwell's Silver Hammer." He was also the driving force behind their masterpiece, Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band. Paul rocks! :guitar: catlover79 11-02-2008, 04:25 PM You're selling Paul McCartney short. Cant think of the title of the book offhand, but any Beatle fan should dig it, especially those who were not around in their day. |
