I signed it too. They are almost done with Season 4 on OnDemand. So if Season 5 starts, then we might as well record them cause it may be a while before they see a dvd release.

I talked to someone from Sony and he said no petition in the world would be encouragement enough for them to go on releasing "FOL" on DVD because they're having so much success with the newer shows. I'm also mad because CTS in Canada has been airing "FOL" and so many other great programs in reruns. All we get here are "Seinfeld", "Everybody Loves Raymond", "Home Improvement", "Just Shoot Me", "Friends", "Frasier", "2 and a Half Men", "NCIS", "CSI", "ER", "Sex and the City", "The Simpsons" and "Family Guy"....in other words, they air all the great, classic shows and we get stuck with the crap!! Even Lifetime apparently dropped "Frasier" from their roster, but instead of replacing it with "FOL" and "One Day at a Time" they put on that "Rita Rocks" crapola! More mindless TV! Guess we just gotta' stick with YouTube and (if they ever get their act together) Joost.

So much success with newer shows? Based on what...Seinfeld? I mean, they haven't really released much in terms of tv-on-dvd at all this year except for a sprinkle even with the new shows.

Well, I called the Sony Home entertainment number and asked abot "The Facts of Life", and They told me something I definitely could not believe. Apparently, they have a LISTING, I repeat, a LISTING for Season 4. If that is the case, than could it be that we may be seeing the girls graduate from Eastland after all? Please take this info with a grain of salt because you know how Sony can be.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but I really wouldn't hold my breath. Sony is too busy with all the new shows and shows from the last ten years. I kind of saw an omen when a friend of mine said they were canceling the release of the third season of "Diff'rent Strokes". So, really, I hate to say it....but I don't think it's gonna' happen no matter how much we protest. And petitions aren't worth much these days. It's all about the dough. And sadly, alot of people purchasing DVDs these days are younger people who would not appreciate good shows like "FOL", and would much rather see mindless crap like "Seinfeld" and "The Simpsons". So, sadly, "FOL" may just live on in oblivion forever, never to be seen again. Canada has all the good TV reruns, while we're stuck with all this "Seinfeld" CRAP!!

What's the point, really, of the posts that tell us not to hold out hope? We might as well, because most of the time, hope is all we've got left, even if it's only for something as simple as seeing the rest of a favored TV show released on DVD...
I'm a young person, not TOO far out of my teens, and I know some younger than me who LOVE older shows. Nick-at-Nite and TVLand (back in the day, anyhow) helped show those of us who weren't around for 'Facts' in most of its original run that this stuff is worth watching.
Don't assume that just because young people are the lead demographic in DVD purchases that we've ruined it all.

P.S. Names and addresses for Sony employees that suddenly and mysteriously can't be produced don't add much weight to the whole 'give it up, you guys' argument either.

I for one am NOT giving up hope for my "Facts" and if anyone truly says they love this series they would not be giving up on it. I am always going to be optimistic about this. Its ridiculous to say it will never be relased because we do not know that by any means.

I called Sony AGAIN and spoke with someone named Marty and I asked him about "The Facts of Life" and he told me that there is definitely a SEASON 4 in the works, but there is no release information on that as of yet. There is also no info as to what this DVD might have on it (ie. The FOL Paris Movie) as of yet.

He said that it might be sometime during the Christmas season or maybe even after the Christmas season when it might be released. There is at least some hope, but still take it with a grain of salt. Who knows, we might even see the girls graduate soon enough. It's been a long time as it is. At least I did ask about it and I did get some answer, but until there is something concrete, this Season 4 is still "UP IN THE AIR".

I agree with this! Very well said! :) There is definitely no point to the posts that tell us not to hold out hope because guess what, even if there were a thousand posts saying the same thing we would hope anyway!!!! :D . Also agree about the last part; if you have no concrete evidence that you've talked to a Sony employee (i.e. name, phone number) then it doesn't add to the argument.

It would be a great Christmas release but I think they would have had to announce it already. They have already moved on to announcing releases for January. Unless this is a last-minute addition, which I would definitely be happy about, it doesn't seem like a release this year is probable. The main thing is we must all get out and buy this season when it is released. It's important to show our support so that Season 5 won't be too far behind.

I am going to have to agree that this is pretty sad news! I already own seasons one through three and I was really hoping to see more of it! One show that seemed to have been very popular with the same crowd of people who liked this show is "Gimme a Break!" However, unlike this board that seems to be getting a lot of posts, that one has been very slow for quite some time. Two other pages of this site that have gotten very few posts by anyone other than be are "Mad About You" and "Caroline in the City". I guess you can say that from my point of view, there is one silver lining in the dark cloud of the last post! The last two sereis that I just mentioned are shows that I am crazy about! In my opinion, Helen Hunt and Lea Thompson are two of the hottest babes around! The last poster said that the company is concentrating on shows from the nineties. Well this is the decade in which these shows came out! As far as "Mad About You" is concerned, I already own the first three seasons as well as a special collectors addition of episodes. I would love to see more seasons released on DVD. Only the first season of "Caroline in the City" has come out. My all-time favorite episode is from the fourth and last season. I am really hoping that they get to that season while I am still young enough to enjoy it! For the record, only the first season of "Gimme a Break!" has been released in this country. My all-time favorite episode is "Katie Steals Julie's Jock" and this was in the second season. I wanted to see it so badly that I had it ordered from Canada!

Hey, folks, once again...whether they release any more of the show this year, next year, whenever, we ought to keep our faith. Certain messages on this board, telling us that there will be no more of the show released, but refusing to straight out name sources or give addresses or numbers, smack of something like bitterness, and probably a form of trolling...look at the dates; notice, those messages seem to pop up after a few days of no activity on this particular thread...so just hold steady and don't give up...

I totally agree with you there. it is ridiculous and stupid to tell us we'll never see "Facts" on dvd or tv ever again. these messages that say these things are making me mad and I find it very strange that they wouldnt want to site their sources so the rest of us could find out for ourselves. I am never giving up on our dvd's or the whole tv thing. if anyone has gotten a reply back from sony and feels compelled to tell us about it, GIVE US THE EMAIL ADDRESS OR PHONE NUMBER FIRST. Are you talking about Me-Too by any chance? I live about 20-30 minutes away from Chicago and we're supposed to have it just like we have Me-TV but for some reason we don't and since we have directv we called and asked for it and they won't give it to us and as of now are not planning to add it to our channel lineup! This makes me so angry because it's a freaking local channel and we shouldn't even be asking our satellite provider for it; we should just have it because we are in the general area. I could be putting my DVR to good use and recording every episode of FOL that they air but instead I'm just fuming and wondering what episodes I'm missing because Directv decides to be an a**. I even tried locating the channel on our old rabbit ears TV because they say you can get it from there but all I got was fuzz! Grr, I hate TV people
Oh and all those people who come on here saying that FOL will never happen on DVD and can't even cite information on who they e-mailed or talked to from Sony can all stuff it. If you have no proof that you talked to anybody, then quit saying the same crap because that does not add to the argument. If you really did call or e-mail somebody, please do the generous thing and give us the phone number or e-mail address or even the name of the person you talked to or e-mailed so that we can contact whoever you did. If you can't provide that, then it's pretty pointless. I'm sorry if I sound rude because I don't mean to be but I'm so tired of people saying the same crap with no proof they talked to anyone. I'm at the end of my rope. All I'm trying to get at is that in the future if anyone talks to Sony, give us the phone number, e-mail address or possibly the name of the person you called and e-mailed. That is all :) .

For some sick reason I found myself watching a reruns of "Seinfeld" on Fox and "Two and a Half Men" on CW with my messed up friends (who happen to love those shows) and I cannot believe how idiotic these shows are. And to think these shows are being shown in reruns constantly in our area, while great shows like "FOL" are only being shown in Canada. And what makes it worse is that "Two and a Half Men" and "Seinfeld" are being released on DVD on a daily basis while "Facts of Life" has been stalled for ages and now it looks as though no more seasons will ever be released! I for one miss when I was little and they used to show all these great programs in reruns because I was only little and was just discovering these shows. Even on TV Land and Nick at Nite the programming sucks! Come on!! TV Land showing "Scrubs" and "CSI" now?????? Wasn't the initial idea behind TV Land supposed to be a station that shows classic sitcoms and TV shows from the '50s through the '80s?????? And now they're even showing full-length movies that we can see anywhere!! TV's really gone downhill.
