What I'm looking for is a way to put VCR tapes on my computer. Does anyone have one of these things that they really like? I've been looking at Pinnacle products, but they have both good and bad reviews, so I'm conflicted. And which would be better, a PCI card or a USB-connected box?

i've been looking for a good one for a while now, a couple of different Hauppage cards and some other ones, but nothing that is going to do everything I want at a good enough price.

there's really no reason why a USB 2.0 (just make sure its a pretty recent release) can't perform as well as a PCI card, so I would look at other factors when comparing them; reviews, price, features, included software, and compatibility with your system.

Pinnacle is releasing a new version of its MovieBox devices in about a week (which are both USB). No reviews yet, so I'm hoping that the issues that people reviewed for the previous version are resolved. Still, I'm always a little weary of buying something with no reviews. I've become dependent on them. lol

epinions.com is a good review site. The reviews at newegg.com and amazon are good too usually.
