View Full Version : That phony-"CHUG A LUG" game-lol
TVFactFan 10-26-2008, 01:26 PM Saw the ep last night with Vanessa getting drunk and then her parents try to make her think she are playing the same game. Then all of a sudden Vanessa discovers it wax TEA.
But you mean to tell me that the only way Vanessa found out it was Tea was from DRINKING it and not by the SMELL?????-lol
Very Corny Scene
UMfan77 10-31-2008, 11:39 AM Another thing that surprised me was that she went along with it, given how drunk she got from her previous encouter with chug-alug. This is definately telling her parents that she would go along with it again and that she DIDN'T learn her lesson. After she found out it was tea, everyone laughed and laughed. I was like, no, you people shouldn't be laughing.
EighteenMinutes 11-01-2008, 12:34 AM It's the Huxtables! These kids would have cleaned the kitchen floor with their tongues if their parents had instructed them to do so...
I actually like this episode...if for nothing else, makes me think of my friend from college back in the day who would take in some "refreshements" and occasionally pipe in with "drink 'er down....drink 'er down."
Furienna 11-16-2008, 09:22 PM I agree with EighteenMinutes. Cliff and Claire forced Vanessa to play the game with them. She had actually already learned her lesson.
GeorgiaboyJeff! 01-22-2009, 11:05 PM Vanessa was dumb to buy into that game.. Like her parents are going to seriously let her sit up their and drink alcohol....
Furienna 01-22-2009, 11:17 PM She thought it was weird, especially since they let Rudy drink.
ThomasE 01-25-2009, 12:53 PM I agree with EighteenMinutes. Cliff and Claire forced Vanessa to play the game with them. She had actually already learned her lesson.
My favorite quote:
Clair: Vanessa you are stalling. Now why don't come on and chug a lug like you did last night!
Rudy was like:
Rudy: (whining) I can't drink it. It's nasty

What made it corny was she should have snelled the TEA when the glass was near her face-lol

I wasn't thinking about that. I was too busy being amused by Vanessa's line with her puckered face saying "This is tea".
CWDogg 01-27-2009, 01:52 AM That whole episode is hilarious
1. When claire was about to drink and cliff said " Hit it big momma"
2. When cliff's turn to drink and he didn't use his hands, he put the whole glass in his mouth and turned it up.
3.When vanessa carried denise up the stairs.
4.When that one girl asked Cara whne she was gonna come out of the bathroom and she responded " I'll be out in a...." then she just vomits
cheesecakehead 04-01-2010, 10:12 PM I think it's just supposed to be funny and they're teasing her in a way, showing her that they love her. What struck me the most about the scene is them having Rudy drink. I remember the first time I saw it, I was like what is going on. But yes, at the same time I think it's odd that they're making their point about Vanessa not drinking by playing a mock game of the alphabet game. I think it's just written as humorous for the episode though, and you shouldn't take it too seriously.
USATVFAN 08-16-2010, 05:47 PM Cosby Real daughter is in that episode.
Furienna 08-17-2010, 06:59 AM Really? Where?
USATVFAN 08-17-2010, 10:15 AM I tried to figure that out. But she look like her mother. Of Course. I think she was on the couch in the yellow shirt or the white shirt.
Camille Cosby in 1990 or around the late 80as
Camille Cosby can be see in the episode Off to the races. She is the women who is setting next to Clair(Phylicia)in the stands.

I guess she just had to obey her parents.

Agreed! Cliff and Claire seemed like the kind of parents that were fun, but when it came down to business, you didn't question them.
kramer 05-07-2011, 05:15 PM Also Cliff was right when he said Colorado. There is a Colorado City, Texas not too far from where I grew up. Of course I would not expect that to be general knowledge being the town only has 4200 people in it.

MmmHmmm...Clair needs to take that tea back from Cliff. LOL.
