Other times when I've taken quizzes like these, I have gotten Italian and the description it gives is never ANYTHING like anyone on my dad's side of the family. My mom can even cook better Italian food than his family and she doesn't have a drop of Italian blood in her.

Oh, and Phoebe, I think you mean to say you've never been to the Netherlands. Holland is a region of the Netherlands. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Holland for more information.

Ahhh bellissimo!! I got Italian! And I wasn't even trying! Must have been the Pasta thing! I am DYING to go to Italy someday! It looks SOOOO romantic! I even have these CD's that I can use to learn to speak Italian!:talk: I don't get to use them very often, because it's hard to listen to them on the bus. You have to actually say the words over and over:talk: to learn the language and I don't want people thinking I'm any stranger than I am!!
This is a cool quiz! Thanks for posting it!

lol I'm only half Italian, both parents are half so I'm half. I've always loved the family centered culture, food, everything. I've been there, and it really is everything you'd expect haha. Amazing place. But if anything, my family is more American than anything European...likely because we've been here for four generations now and my grandfathers on both sides, where the Italian comes from, have both passed away.

Gotcha. Thanks for the info, too. Funny, because after I posted, I really was thinking 'should I have written The Netherlands instead'? Actually, I had always thought they were the same thing!!

Geez, and I thought I knew my geography!!:D

Kind of surprises me. I like to have fun, but am not up for 'just about anything'. I did go to Amsterdam once, but not to one of those cafes with the smoke coming out, just to the Anne Frank House, a couple of museums and a tour of the Heineken brewery.

My dad is Italian American from New Jersey, and it wasn't until recently that I figured out Italian American culture is MUCH MUCH different than Italian culture from Italy. My dad's family always emphasized how Italian they are, but really they don't know the first thing about Italy or its culture (the only one of his relatives in our recent past that actually wasn't born here is my great grandmother). I'm assuming since you've been there you'd agree with this but maybe there are similarities I don't see.

but I've always wanted to travel there, especially the northern parts of the country, like Lombardia. It looks beautiful. :D I love the food too, and the language.
