View Full Version : More Double Meanings
Smartboy 10-22-2008, 10:12 PM As most of you know, "Caroline in the City" and "Mad about You" are both shows that were popular with the Generation X crowd. Well, because I was unsuccessful in stimulating any conversation with this morning's post about the ATM episode, I will try another approach. Throughout this episode, there were a lot of references to double meanings. In the first place, when Caroline and Annie confronted the female banker about the ATM situation, they learned that her name was Mrs. Banks. Caroline could not resist the temptation to point out the humor of the fact that her name was Mrs. Banks and she worked at a bank! Later in the episode, when the fact that she picked her nose became public knowledge, she decided to beat her friends to the punch by saying, "Caroline you're so snotty!" "Caroline you're so picky!" Well, I had a very similar experince over on the "Mad About You" section of this site. Just like with Caroline, I think that some of the actresses from "Mad About You" are really hot stuff! A while back, I watched an episode in which Paul's mother Sylvia was wearing designer jeans and her back was to Paul, Jamie and the audience. Just thinking about it makes me feel giddy! After writing about my feelings about the situation, I said that I think that the actresses who played Jamie and Fran are really hot and that the babes who played Lisa and Sylvia were not far behind. After typing this last sentence, I could not resist saying that I guess I could give the word "behind" a double meaning after seeing Paul's mother in jeans and enjoying every minute of it! Wow!

Smartboy 10-23-2008, 11:44 PM I would be very interested in knowing what exactly the last poster guesses!

Smartboy 10-25-2008, 05:53 PM Even though we have pretty much said what there is to say about this topic, I am posting here because it is one of the fews threads that I have any interest in that I am not already the most recent poster. In attempts to stimulate some conversation about the shows that I like, I have started two new thread less than an hour ago. One of them was on the "Friends" page of this site and the other was "Mad About You". Because, both of these series, like "Caroline in the City" cater to the Yuppie generation, I thought that you guys might be interest in it. After I post this message, I will go over to those pages and see if I have have some responses. Bye!

When I first made this post, I comparied this sereis to "Mad About You" in terms of being popular Generation X shows. Well, I would say that another thing that goes with being a Generation Xer is appreciation for the talents of Jennifer Lopez. Well, as most of you probably know, one of the most famous things about her is the sexiness of her rear! Well, when I started this thread I mentioned a case where I gave the word "behind" a double meaning. This was when I was writing about the site of Sylvia from "Mad About You" in jeans. Wow! Well, I would now like to share with you guys a double-meaning reference that I heard on the radio a while back. Someone mentioned how, when you see Jennifer Lopez, there is no question as to who you are seeing. There are no ifs, ans, or "butts"! I thought that was great! While I am on the topic of butts, I would like to ad that, in my opinion, Lea Thompson's leaves nothing to be desired! I especially like the way that she moves it when she dances!

Before my last reply on this page, I attempted to stimulate conversation on three other pages of this site. These were the pages of Three's Company, Mad About You and Gimme a Break! In all of these case, I simply went to an old thread and brought it up to the top with a new response. So far, I have not managed to stimulate any new conversation! Because of this, I have decided to bring to oldie but good up to the forefront!
Smartboy 12-04-2009, 04:29 AM Because none of my recent new threads have managed to stimulate any conversation, I have decided to see what happens if I bring this one to the top of the page.

In my efforts to stimulate some conversation about some of these fine series, I am rotating between starting new threads and bringing oldies but goodies to the tops of pages. In addition to this show, I have also worked hard on the pages of "Gimme a Break!" and "Mad About You" during this sitting. So far, I have not generated any new responses. I also responded to a thread on the "Brady Bunch" page. Since then, someone else has posted a message on that page, but it was in response to a different thread than the one that I responded to. Let us see what happens this time around!
I would be very interested in knowing what exactly the last poster guesses!
i like the way you replied to the above post....and i dont guess any thing
