I'm trying to find out the name of the young man who became a quadriplegic in a swimming accident in which he was rescued by a woman. I remember he was also a sports journalist.

His name was Phillip Macri.

He dove into a wave and broke his neck. He probably would have drowned had he not been saved by the anonymous woman. They were reunited some time later as I recall.

This is one of my favorite "lost love" segments. I sometimes wonder how Philip is doing nowadays. I hope that he's found a job in broadcasting like he had always wanted. I also wonder how Anne Potts (his hero) is doing?
