I found SO through the AOL Search Engine. Was looking for an article on Buffalo Bob Smith I thought I had put in my favorite places on IE but...landed here instead!

I haven't regretted it since! I love this site! Everyone here is awesome!!

As for that article...never did find it again.

I was trying to find information about Bill Bixby, and there was a link to this site. I did not become a member till 2003, though. During that time, I was like obsessed with Barney Miller, remember? ha ha ha:crazy:

Awwww, the good, ole days:wave:

i think i googled nancy mckeon/facts of life/the division (one of those three) and came across so. i used to read the posts on the division page and finally made an account. at first i used to only post there and the facts of life page, but then i started posting at chit chat.

I was looking for an episode of Diff'rent Strokes (one of those impulse things) and came across this site. Bought it (this was before the crackdown in selling tapes I believe) and have been lurking ever since. :)

I attribute my amazing luck with being able to meet all of you fine people to the show Three's Company.

ha I was...13, in my obession stage, and I basically looked up EVERYTHING and ANYTHING having to do with the show. Naturally I found SO. I only really hovered around the TC board and even then I didn't register because the whole message board thing was foreign to me. I just liked reading what people had to say. But then there was a thread about TC names and references in your area, and I got so excited because there's both a Wood St. and a DeWitt Lane within a 1 mile radius of my house and I just HAD to let the world know about how cool that was. haha. So I registered and eventually I ventured out into the rest of the SO world. Hooray.

I was searching for information on either the Andy Griffith Show or Gomer Pyle USMC, and stumbled onto SO. I'm so glad i found this place, it has a lot of good information and some of the best people on the internet are here. Thank You TJ for the best site on the internet!

An online friend told me about SO long ago, and I saw it mentioned on AOL message boards many times back when I had AOL. A combination of the two eventually got me to register.

Coincidentally, I found it looking for Happy Days episodes and info as well. Awhile back, before I even signed up under my "Wreckless" account, I had Googled Happy Days and found it as a link, either on the first or 2nd page of results. Great question. Wonder how TJ found SO

First of all, I absolutely LOVE it here and wish I would have found it years ago!
Anyway, I found it quite by accident, as I see a lot of others did as well. I was desperate to find a place where I could discuss Seinfeld, because the board that I "moderate" (well, I use that term lightly because there haven't been many posts at all... and none to moderate. Oh well) is kind of sparse. I joined another one that this member of the first board had started and it is dead as a doornail. So I was growing frustrated and tried TV.com, but didn't care for it at all. I was amazed at how huge this place was when I first clicked on it and in no time at all I was hooked!

Funny thing is that I cannot go one day without checking out the new posts. Seriously, it's like an addiction. Every night when I get home from work and eating dinner, I say to myself "I am not going to go online tonight..." and repeat it over and over. Well, that only lasts about 30 minutes from the time I get home!

I was looking for a forum about 1960's TV shows, and lo and behold here I am.

Its nice here and I like a place where I can talk about shows that were made before I was born, and not bore people.

Back in 2003 Nick At Nite was showing Charles In Charge but they kept on skipping the first season episodes. I was curious to know why and did a google on the show and found the CIC message board here. I registered so that I could create a thread asking anyone if they knew whether the season one episodes would be shown or not.

Wow the people who run SO have done a great job if most people around here found it through Google or another search engine! Sometimes it's impossible to find sites that you are interested in, only because of the way it's promoted.

Like a number of people, looking for websites about The Facts Of Life led
me here. Hard to believe that at one point the Facts Of Life board was the
board to be at Sitcoms Online. Not very busy now, is it?

Yeah I agree Andrea, they have done a great job. It seems to me, including myself, the majority of us posting in this thread have found SO & the SO Message Boards through Google or searches through Google for a show or info on a show lol.

I found SO in December 2004; I can't remember exactly how but I think I was searching for information on Family Ties. Being in England, it hasn't been shown here for years and I'd seen the show from staying with relatives in America and liked it, so wanted to find out more about it. I think that's how I came across Sitcoms Online.

I found out about SO from ChesneyLady aka Homeriffic aka Kristen.

I met her on the Wings board on the TVLand message board. The people on there were pissing me off because they would come on the Wings board and say how much the show sucked. Then I would say "if you don't like the show, fine, then just don't watch it!!" You didn't see me going on the board of a show that I wasn't into and saying how much I think it sucks!!

That's when Kristen told me about SO, and that the people on SO act nothing like the people on the TVLand boards do. Now it's been over 5 years and I'm still on here. I go on a few other message boards from time to time, but I come on SO alot more than I do the other boards. It's because of the people!!:yourock:

It was March 2000 and it was shortly after I got my first computer and checked out the internet. I had no idea that their were so many websites dedicated to TV shows , especially the classics which I always enjoyed. Anyway one of the sites I found was Tim's TV Showcase and they had links over there to SO so that's how I found this place. I was in sitcom heaven... I didn't register until June of 2003 although I was a regular lurker here before then. And as they say...the rest is history.

Actually I probably wouldn't have joined when I did but that particular day, I couldn't access the boards. It said I had to be a member to read anything. So I came up with the first name I could think of which was mr roper. I forgot to capitalize the first letters in the name...I forgot the period after mr. lol So really if that didn't happen to me ,I might not have ever joined SO. This was the first message board I ever joined. As to why I waited so long in the first place...I never thought anyone would care about anything I had to say. If you look at my first posts, they are really stupid.

I found it through going to Happy Days Online a bunch when I got into it in 2001.

So did I. In fact, I remember visiting it back as far as 1997 when this site was mainly a Happy Days fan site. I think I found it via a Yahoo! search like some others have said.

However, what got me to join as a member in early 2001 was the fact I wanted a place to discuss Laverne and Shirley.

I'm a member of the Zap2it message boards, and some other members there would sometimes post links to Pavan's blogs. I had been mad about Benson never being on at the time it was scheduled on TVLand and found that Sitcoms Online kept you up to date on schedule changes.
