View Full Version : Dalziel and Pascoe: Dutch Holloway Strikes Back
Race's Girl 10-16-2008, 07:04 AM Chapter 1- Holloway Gets Out
At the Wetherton Maximum Security Prison, two prison guards were accompaning Segreant Edgar 'Wieldy' Wield to the cell of the most dangerous criminal in the prison. Wield had heard of this man from Detective Superintendant Andrew Dalziel and he also know that this was where all the sick and screwed-up criminals caught of Wetherton went even if they were caught by Wetherton CID. It was about 9:15pm and Wield was scared as he entered the cell of the most evil and dangerous criminal in the jailhouse, Dutch Holloway who was due for parole the next day but was doing time for drug smuggling but was sent there by the Fat Man himself. The two prison guards with Wield left him alone with Holloway who now appeared to be in his early 50s but while Wield was scared of Holloway, Holloway himself was desperate for revenge on the fat git who put him in this pee soaked hell-hole.
"Hello, Sergeant Wield. The two prison guards told me all about you." Holloway said in a sort of Liverpudlian accent as he smiled at Wield.
"Mr Dalziel told me about what you did 20 years ago," Wield answered trying to act as brave as his fat boss. "You're also glad he put you away for this."
"Look, I'm going to get out of here and get back at Andy if it's the last thing I ever do!" Holloway said as he stood up.
Wield was due to scream for help when a black man arrived and tried to call Wield down but Holloway ordered a larger black man and a man with a right iron hand to grab Wield by his arms while Holloway himself held a gun to Wield's temple. The other convicts looked at Holloway, some with angry faces while others smiled at him. When the man approached Holloway, he tried to calm him down and said "Let Sergeant Wield go, Holloway."
"You make a move and Wieldy gets it," Holloway exclaimed as he kept his gun on Wield. "I'll get even with that fat nose-picking git if it's the last thing I do!"
"Who does he mean, Claw?" asked the black man holding Wield's left arm.
"He means that fat arsehead Dalziel, Leo!" the Claw replied as the black prison guard gave the mob the o.k to let Wield go.
The next morning at Wetherton CID, DCI Peter Pascoe sat at his desk reading the local paper as Detective Superintendant Andrew 'Fat Andy' Dalziel stood beside him and jumped as he looked at Pascoe's calender. Today was the day Dutch Holloway, the man he put away 20 years ago for drug smuggling, was getting paroled.
"Listen to this, Sir," Pascoe said as he turned to page 12 of the paper. "It says the Dutch Holloway's getting paroled after 20 years in prison!"
"He deserved it, Lad" Dalziel said scowling. "I know what folks'll be saying, 'Fat Andy sent Holloway down the river.'"
"You were the one who sent Dutch Holloway to prison?" asked Pascoe looking up from the paper.
"It was 20 years ago and I'm glad he went there!" Dalziel said.
"Hang on, went where?" asked Pascoe curiously.
"We went to the Wetherton Maximum Security Prison." Dalziel said as he looked at the young inspector.
"What did he do?" asked Pascoe as he put the paper down and walked over to his fat superirour.
Dalziel raised an eyebrow and sighed "He was a big drug smuggler and that's what I sent him to jail for."
"Suddenly, Seregant Wield entered the office and was gasping for breath from his encounted with Dutch Holloway the night before. Both Dalziel and Pascoe stared in shock at Wield who was startled by the site of Fat Andy in Pascoe's office and jumped until the Fat Man himself shock Wield until both had calmed down.
"Sir," Wield said as he finally calmed down. "Dutch Holloway's out of prison."
"I know that." Dalziel said as he crossed his arms over his chest.
"OK, I was just telling you two," Wield said as he turned to leave Pascoe's office. "Oh, Sir. The Chief wants to see you in his office now."
As he approached Chief Constable Raymond in the hallway, Dalzile noticed that he was the superintendant who helped put Dutch Holloway behind bars and they both knew that everytime they thought about that day in August 1979, they were at the corner of a dead end.
It was a beautiful evening in August 1979 and both Sergeant Andy Dalziel and famous drug smullger Dutch Holloway were in a white van. Holloway was driving and a casually dressed Dalziel sat beside him as they listened to Layla by Derek & the Dominoes and sang along.
Layla, you got me on my knees,
Layla, I'm beggin', darlin', please,
Layla, darlin', won't you ease my worried mind
"What are we at this old place for, sir?" Dalziel asked. "It look like an abandoned warehouse."
"It is an abandoned warehouse, Andy." Holloway replied cooly.
"Why are we here for?" Andy asked.
"Because I'm delivering some white stuff to a couple of London blokes." Melissa said as he got out of the van and gave the superintendant-to-be a 'yell if you see any cops look'. Andy just nodded and pulled out what looked like a walkie talkie.
"Holloway's in the warehouse." Dalziel said into the walkie talkie.
"Thanks, I'll send a few of the lads in there." Superintendant Raymond said back.
Inside the warehouse, Holloway was due to hand a bag of white dust over to two London men but gasped as he saw some flashing police lights.
"Drop your weapons, you're surronded by armed officers!" Superintendant Raymond yelled into a bullhorn.
"Bugger, cops!" Holloway said as the two London men ran out of the warehouse but got arrested.
Holloway just scowled as some policemen entered the warehouse. He didn't want to Dalziel to get involved in this. This wasn't his fight. He ran to the door and saw Superintendant Raymond in his way.
"Get the bloody hell out of my way!" Holloway growled.
"Dutch Holloway, you're under arrest for drug smuggling." Superintendant Raymond said as Dalziel entered and handcuffed him.
Holloway tried to escape and was shocked as he turned around and saw Dalziel behind him.
"How could you?" Holloway growled at Dalziel.
"I'm with Wetherton CID, Holloway!" Dalziel replied as he forced Holloway to stand up.
"You better pray I don't get out, Andy," Holloway snarled. "You better all pray."
The officers all looked at Holloway and Dalziel as they left the warehouse with Superintendant Raymond in tow. The two London men were arrested by two London officers called Jack Regan and Geogre Carter and were taken back to London while Holloway was sentanced to 20 years in the Wetherton Maximum Security Prison. At least that way, Dalziel could get that 'smart arse' out of his life for the next 2 decades.
"Andrew, are you alright?" Superintendant Raymond asked. "Andrew, are you there?"
Dalziel didn't answer his boss's question. He just went into his car and was about to drive off when Superintendant Raymond smiled at him.
"Sorry, sir, I'm fine but I'll see you tomorrow!" Dalziel sighed as he drove off.
"Andrew, are you alright?" Chief Constable Raymond asked as he waved his left hand in front of the Fat Man's eyes to get his attention.
"I can't believe someone'd let Dutch Holloway out of prison, sir!" Dalziel snarled.
"I was only being nice and his sentance is over." Cheif Constable Raymond replied.
"Sorry about my behaviour, Chief," Fat Andy said smiling at last. Chief Constable Raymond smiled back and knew that it was clear that the superintendant was nervous. "I'm fine."
"I forgive and and you know whay I wanted to see you, Andrew." Chief Constable Raymond as he they both walked towards the latter's office.
"It's the day that Dutch Holloway gets out." Dalziel sighed sadly.
"Come on, maybe he's forgotten about... that incident 20 years ago," Chief Conastable Raymonsd said cooly. "We should know that by know."
"That or he's still mad at me." Dalziel groaned.
"Maybe." Chief Constable Raymond said as he went inside his office. Dalziel was still at ease from the fact that Dutch Holloway was now out of prison.
Race's Girl 10-22-2008, 06:23 AM Chapter 2- The Hunt is On
"There has to be something more we can do." said Holloway as he stood at his new desk in the Peppermint Stingray.
Leo and the Claw were sitting in the couch and saw a photo that they both recongnised as Andy Dalziel. It had been three days since Holloway had been released from jail and both Leo and the Claw agreed to this course even if it did inlvoved getting back at Dalziel once and for all. At Wetherton CID, Dalziel arrived in in the confrence room and was a little surprised to see everyone of his collegues there.
"What are you lot doing here?" Dalziel asked.
"We need to talk, sir." Pascoe said.
"About what?" Dalziel asked.
"Look, sir, it's not easy to say this," Novello said. "But, well, we know about you and Dutch Holloway and . . . ."
"Oh, Ivor! Not you too!" Dalziel shouted.
"It's kind of obvious you have a problem with him, sir." Wield said.
"Yes, I admit I do have a problem with Dutch Holloway," Dalziel said. "But I haven't seen him in 2 decades! DO I MAKE MYSELF CLEAR?"
"I told everyone about it," Wield said. "Hector wanted to know why you yelled his name earlier. The day before that, I heard you and the Chief talking about him and it's obvious that he also knows Dutch Holloway!"
"I told you," growled Dalziel scratching his rear end. "I sent him to prison!"
"Edgar, it's true," Chief Constable Raymond said. "I know Andrew's going overboard here."
"What are you talking about?" demanded Pascoe beginning to lose his patience. "Andy's not mad."
"I finally get it after all these years," the Fat Man admitted as he stood up and stood beside Chief Consatble Raymond. "Whenever Dutch Holloway was drunk, he'd yell at anyone usually for no good reason. He called me a stupid pig a lot."
"How come?" Hector asked.
"His father wanted another daughter," Chief Consatble Raymond continued. "He didn't want a son. After he was born, Dutch Holloway's father refused to believe he was his father's son. He figured his mother had a fling with a neighbour in Sheffield because he said he'd never have any boys. All his children had to be girls. His father Harold Holloway would often yell at his mother Sarah Holloway and he used to hit her. A lot."
"Did Dutch Holloway's father ever hit him or his sisters?" Wield asked.
"Just Holloway himself," Dalziel admitted. "While I was undercover with Holloway, he told me that he got a lot of verbal abuse from his father as well. He told the lad that he were a waste of space, he wished he'd never been born, he was nothing but trouble, that sort of thing. He broke a lot of things when he was drunk. One night when Dutch himself was ten, his father left and never came back."
"This isn't just about Dutch Holloway," Pascoe said. "It's about you putting him away too, isn't it?"
"Yes, lad," Dalziel nodded. "He also told me that when he was at Penistone Grammar School, they had a dance. Every single student was bragging about it but Holloway just couldn't bring himself to tell them he had gotten his first criminal offence for robbing a corner shop."
"It's okay, sir, just relax," Pascoe said trying to get Dalziel under control before he yelled Dutch Holloway's name again. "Just take a deep breath and calm down."
Dalziel took a deep breath and exhaled slowly.
"Good going, Andrew," Chief Consatble Raymond said. "Just breathe deeply. Calm down a little, it'll be alright."
There was a moment of silence just then. Dalziel could feel his own pain that Dutch Holloway was going to kill him if he ever found him while Chief Constable Raymond hesitantly put his arms around him and let him sit down beside him. He wasn't sure why he suddenly did that but somehow, he could tell this was what the fat Man needed. The others looked at Chief Constable Raymond as if he completely lost it.
"Sir?" Hector asked.
"I've got it under control, Wayne," Chief Constable Raymond said. "Dutch Holloway will be back behind bars when I'm done with him."
"Thanks, sir," Dalziel said composing himself. He was glad he finally let his anger toward Dutch Holloway out but he was still angry and was probably going to be feeling like this for a long time. Pascoe could see this. "Alright, everyone. I just got word that Dutch Holloway's in the Peppermint Stingray which is a nightclub in Wetherton and we're gonna give him a surprise. I suggest Inspector Pascoe goes after Dutch Holloway solo while the rest of you ask if they know him through me."
Race's Girl 10-30-2008, 11:54 AM Chapter 3- A Plan In Action
The next day, Dutch Hollway was in a very good mood, he had forgotten that he had threatened to shoot Sergeant Wield just after his release and already, his old enemy Andrew Dalziel was falling into his trap. Both Leo and the Claw had discovered that a team of officers, lead by one DCI Peter Pascoe, had entered the Peppermint Stingray so that was where Leo and the Claw would capture one of Dalziel's own.
All Holloway had to do was get into the men's room where DCI Peter Pascoe, Fat Andy's new partner, was now. That was not going to be a problem, using Leo and the Claw to attack him and then he will just wait for the unwitting DCI to walk into his trap. Dutch Holloway was slightly disappointed however, he had been hoping it would be that fat pig who had sent him to prison fro drug smuggling in August 1979 rather than a newbie.
Before Leo and the Claw knew it, Pascoe had arrived in the men's room and was asking people if they knew Dutch Holloway through Dalziel. Leo had to admit it was stylish, if he didn't have more important things to do, he would have stayed a while and enjoyed himself. However, both he and the Claw had to find a hiding place so that Pascoe wouldn't have time to get help when they both struck.
Due to the men's room's sizes there were plenty of places but they had to be careful, if Wield showed up, the plan would be ruined as the room would have to be investigated. The two mobsters could not risk anyone sounding the alarm and alerting Dalziel.
Hiding under a sink was out of the question, however behind the door was great and if it got the job done, it was worth it.
When both leo and the Claw were safely behind the door, they went over the plan a few more times to make sure that everything had been taken care of.
As if on cue, Pascoe came though the door tagged along by Wield who was obviously eager to lead the other man away. The other man and Wield were quickly taken gotten rid of by Pascoe with a generous 'thank you for your cooperation', the Claw almost laughed. The two of them took this opportunity to get out of their hiding place. When Pascoe came in and laid eyes on both leo and the Claw, he didn't have any time to react before he was surronded and advanced on.
"Hey, what's going on?" Pascoe asked raising his hands.
"That's enough talking, piggy and keep those hands where I can see them." Leo growled as his attention was drawn to the door as people could be heard passing by, Pascoe took the opportunity to rush at his attackers, he ploughed Leo into the Claw and they both went crashing to the floor. The Claw however was stronger than he looked as he stood up and had Pascoe pinned beneath him.
"Stop struggling, piggy," the Claw snarled. "You're only making it worse for yourself."
"Making it worse," Pascoe said. "I fail to see how."
"Well, it means I have to do this." Leo said as he quickly stood up pulling Pascoe with him; he then pushed Pascoe with all his might and watched as he collided head first with the row of china hand basins that lined on one wall. His body went limp and as his head drooped to the floor a smear of blood was left on the white sink.
"Told you it'd be worse." the Claw said as he reached down, tore Pascoe's watch from his wrist throwing it to the floor and picked Pascoe up and took him to Dutch Holloway's office with leo in tow. Wield watched the two men walk away with Pascoe before rushing towards a payphone.
They've got Inspector Pascoe, thought Wield as he saw everything. I've gotta contact Superintendant Dalziel and tell him Dutch Holloway's behind this.
Race's Girl 11-03-2008, 08:16 AM Chapter 4- Captured
When Pascoe awoke, it was dark outside. He was tied to a chair opposite a large desk. Looking around, he saw that his black leather coat was on a nearby couch. Suddenly, he was aware that he was not alone since Leo stood there studying him with a gleam in his eye.
Pascoe turned his head from him to the Claw in fear. He pulled at his bonds as hard as he could but to no avail. He was pinned and could not escape. As expected, Dutch Holloway moved toward him slowly with a slight smile on his face.
No, no, this can't be happening. thought Pascoe as he turned his head and shut his eyes so as not to look at the mob.
Dutch Holloway reached over and forcefully turned Pascoe's head back to him. When he wouldn't open his eyes, Leo pinched his nostrils shut with his fingers as the Claw clamped his mouth closed. He did that until the DCI's eyes flew open unable to breathe.
"About time you woke up, piggy." Leo smirked.
Dutch Holloway saw the confusion then the fear as it dawned on Pascoe who stood before him.
"Welcome to the Peppermint Stingray, Inspector Pascoe," Dutch Holloway said making emphasis on Pascoe's name. "Don't even think of telling me that's not your name. A friend of yours, Sergeant Edgar Wield, told me all about you and Fat Andy."
The mob were watching Pascoe who was so deep in his own thoughts looking for answers that Dutch Holloway couldn't help but be impressed. He had expected threats, denials, arguments, swearing and more, not the almost calm silence that he was now receiving. He then remembered that Wield had told him that Pascoe was the most thoughtful of Dalziel's team.
"What are you planning to do with me and who's Fat Andy, Holloway?" Pascoe asked fearfully.
"Oh, Inspector, you know that Fat Andy's the fat git who drove me mad and sent me to prison," Holloway said. "Fat Andy's now Detective Superintendant Andrew Dalziel, right?"
Pascoe was so upset now he could hardly breathe. He had to admit that the mob were definitely capable of doing what they intended to do. Pascoe's only hope was that the Fat Man didn't fall into the trap but the chances were remote.
"What are you going to do to me?" Pascoe asked.
"We're gonna take you hostage," snarled the Claw as he taped Pascoe's mouth shut and Holloway picked up Pascoe's mobile and called Dalziel. "One word and you get it."
At Wetherton CID, Dalziel was unsure of himself but it was not like him. In fact, this situation had taught him something. Chief Constable Raymond was actually human just like the average man was. Suddenly, his mobile rang and he answered it but half hoped not to let Chief Constable Raymond hear the conversation.
"Dalziel?" Fat Andy asked.
"Hello, Andy." came a voice which sounded very pleased with itself.
"Good afternoon, Pascoe, nice impression of Dutch Holloway." Dalziel said as if desperately wanted to pound the living daylights out of Dutch Holloway himself.
"Right answer but wrong guess, Andy, you don't want to annoy me in case something unfortunate happened to poor Inspector Pascoe," sang Dutch Holloway obviously basking in the Fat Man's despair. "I tell you that I've got him with me in the Peppemint Stingray. I've gotta admit that he's an impressive young man so I hope you can come and find him in my office as I'll remind you that DCI Pascoe's completely at my mercy."
Dalziel was proud that Pascoe had somehow got one on Dutch Holloway to have earned his respect but he had a bad feeling that that could quickly stand for nothing if Fat Andy couldn't find a safe way to find the young DCI.
"What do you want me to do, you crafty sod?" growled Dalziel knowing full well it was bound to have something to do with getting his hands on Holloway.
"I want your life," stated Dutch Holloway as if merely explaining a simple and perfectly innocent business proposition. "I'll be waiting, Andy."
Dalziel was shocked as Dutch Holloway cut off the transmission but Chief Constable Raymond could see that the Fat Man was willing to throw away years of hard work just so that the whole gang were safe. He liked Fat Andy a lot, they had got on well as Dalziel was as experienced as he was.
"Sir, Dutch Holloway's got Inspector Pascoe at the Peppermint Stingray and I need you to come with me." Dalziel said sharply.
Both Chief Constable Raymond and the Fat Man jumped into the former's car and drove to the Peppermint Stingray. Fat Andy was hoping and praying that he could find Pascoe and that he might be able to answer a few questions and help them sort out this mess.
Race's Girl 11-05-2008, 08:11 AM Chapter 5- Hello, Andy
As both he and Chief Constable Raymond arrived at the Peppermint Stingray, Dalziel noticed Wield, Hector, Novello and the others looking around the place and suddenly said "You lot stay with the Chief and find Dutch Holloway but first, will one of you tell me what the bloody hell happened?"
"Dutch Holloway's got Inspector Pascoe," said Wield. "You'll probably find him in Holloway's office."
"Thanks, Wieldy," said the Fat Man as he dashed to Holloway's office. "You thought you could get away with capturing one of my lot, do you, Holloway?"
As he entered Dutch Holloway's office, Fat Andy found Pascoe bound and gagged and gasped "Alright, Lad, hold still while I get this off you."
He placed one fat hand on Pascoe's shoulder and with the other hand, he grabbed the tape over the DCI's mouth and tore it off quickly which caused the young inspector to flinch but Dalziel wasn't glad Pascoe screamed like a girl.
"Sir," Pascoe gasped. "Am I ever glad to see you?"
"Of course you are," the Fat Man said as he walked behind Pascoe and bent down to untie him. "Now let's get you out of here."
Suddenly, both Dalziel and Pascoe heard the door opening and closing but before he could untie Pascoe, Fat Andy felt what felt like a handgun barrel in the small of his back.
"Stand up, you fat pig." Leo said from behind Dalziel who left Pascoe tied and stood up quickly.
"Foregive me, Pascoe." gasped the Fat Man as he felt what felt like the Claw's iron right hand grasping his throat.
"The boss wants to speak to you, Fatso." growled the Claw as he stood face to face with Fat Andy while Pascoe's eyes darted around.
"What's going on, Sir?" gasped Pascoe as Leo stood guard of him and allowed the Claw to make Dalziel face Dutch Holloway himself.
"Hello, Andy." said Holloway himself smiling at Dalziel in person after 20 years.
"What the bloody hell are you up to this time, Holloway, you arrogant bastard?" growled the Fat Man.
"Manners, Andy," said Holloway. "Is that any way to speak to an old friend of yours?"
"First off, we're ot friends and second, don't think about killing me in front of DCI Pascoe there." snarled Fat Andy while pointing to Pascoe.
"I'm not even thinking about that," Holloway said before turning to Leo and the Claw. "Get that fat bastard, boys."
As ordered, both Leo and the Claw attacked Dalziel while Dutch Holloway looked on smirking and Pascoe looked on fearfully.
Leo kept doing some serious karate moves on the Fat Man and spat in his face who fought back by punching him and later, Fat Andy and the Claw were punching each other. but as Fat Andy was almost down for the count after 3 minutes, Holloway looked down on his worst enemy and said "Well, Andy, it looks like I'll be winning the war and apart from that Chief of yours, the only other person I can't trust... is you."
Finally, Holloway gave the okay for the Claw to knock Dalziel out which he did and five seconds after the knockout punch, the Fat Man fell to the floor unconcsious.
Race's Girl 11-05-2008, 08:12 AM Chapter 6- Face to Face with Dutch Holloway
When Dalziel woke up, pain greeted him a little more forcefully than anytime he had a headache. His head throbbed and his neck was terribly stiff and sore. He felt like he had been run over by a car. He tried to move but his hands were bound either side as if he was tied to someone else and that someone else was DCI Pascoe.
He opened his eyes as soon as he remembered what had happened and noticed that Pascoe and Dutch Holloway, who ordered the attack, were the only two witnesses.
Both Dalziel and Pascoe heard the door opening and closing but before he could untie Pascoe, Fat Andy felt what felt like a handgun barrel in the small of his back.
"What's going on?" gasped Pascoe as Leo stood guard of him and allowed the Claw to make Dalziel face Dutch Holloway himself.
"Don't think about killing me in front of DCI Pascoe there." snarled Fat Andy while pointing to Pascoe.
"I'm not even thinking about that," Holloway said before turning to Leo and the Claw. "Get that fat bastard, boys."
As ordered, both Leo and the Claw attacked Dalziel while Dutch Holloway looked on smirking and Pascoe looked on fearfully.
Leo kept doing some serious karate moves on the Fat Man and spat in his face who fought back by punching him and later, Fat Andy and the Claw were punching each other. but as Fat Andy was almost down for the count after 3 minutes, Holloway looked down on his worst enemy and said "Well, Andy, it looks like I'll be winnign the war and apart from that Chief of yours, the only other person I can't trust... is you."
Finally, Holloway gave the okay for the Claw to knock Dalziel out which he did and five seconds after the knockout punch, the Fat Man fell to the floor unconcsious.
"Sir, are you OK?" Pascoe asked from behind the Fat Man as the former turned his head to find him.
Fat Andy tried to gain some clue as to where he was. He was in Dutch Holloway's office in the Peppermint Stingray. The blinds had been pulled halfway up, allowing sunlight to shine through. The rays sent drumbeats through Dalziel's head but he was thankful to see them nonetheless. Dalziel also reminded himself that the door was closed. His head spun as the door opened and someone strode in closing the door behind them. The Fat Man blinked to regain focus as Dutch Holloway and his mob stood near him and Pascoe.
"What the sodding hell do you want?" Fat Andy demanded.
Holloway was silent. Dalziel was having none of this. He tried to untie himself and Pascoe and although the pain made him cry out, he managed to give Holloway that glare.
"Turn them around, boys," Holloway said. "I want Fat Andy facing me."
As Leo and the Claw turned Dalziel and Pascoe around, the latter said "What the bloody hell's going on?"
"Shut it," snapped Leo. "You and that fat pig are gonna get it right, here, right now."
"What are you up to?" the Fat Man growled at Holloway.
"It's been 20 years, Andy," Holloway said. "You see, you're the biggest problem in my life as I told the boys after my parole hearing. I thought the Claw shot you in the arm earlier but it was Officer Grainger and thought it was you."
"So it was the Claw who shot Grainger in the arm," Pascoe said. "I KNEW it."
"So you see, Andy, we're not so different," Holloway said ignoring Pascoe's interuption. "You helped me sell that white stuff before I got arrested."
"We're not the same. You're bloody pathetic," Dalziel spat. "This has got nothing to do with what happened 20 years ago. You're fighting for nothing more than your own greed."
Holloway's face fell and he backhanded Fat Andy who just glared at Holloway in return.
"I did you a favour, Andy," Holloway growled. "I helped you get away from the first drug smugglers I saved you from! You should be thanking me!"
"That's sick," Pascoe snarled at Holloway as he looked over his shoulder. "You should be ashamed of yourself."
As the Claw grasped Pascoe's head and turned it around, Holloway walked over to Pascoe and snarled "Another word from you, Inspector and you're dead."
"LEAVE HIM ALONE." shouted Dalziel looking over his shoulder.
"That's it." yelled the Claw as both he and Leo stormed out of Holloway's office but Dalziel and Pascoe were surprised when Holloway left as well.
"What now, sir?" Pascoe asked as soon as he and the Fat Man were left alone in Holloway's office.
"We wait." replied Fat Andy.
"What are we waiting for?" asked Pascoe.
"Help." repiled Dalziel.
Race's Girl 12-05-2008, 08:38 AM Chapter 7- Saved
After 10 minutes of being in Dutch Holloway's office, both Dalziel and Pascoe were still tied back to back. Dalziel knew that Holloway's scheme had started and was keeping a close eye on the others making sure that they might find him and Pascoe here. The Fat Man had noticed that Wield was the first person to tell him where Pascoe was but Leo was now in the office with them answering any questions with such resistance that Pascoe was surprised. Fat Andy was now however was getting annoyed as he wanted his plan to be put in action now. He needed to try a different angle and that was when it came to him. Why did that pest Holloway leave Leo in charge of his office?
Dalziel did not like the idea, he was usually not a 'hands on' person but most people were not like him or Pascoe, he knew Holloway himself had sent for his most trusted and evil henchman and that was Leo.
Leo was one of those people who could convince you he was a good man but then out of no where, his violent streak would flare up and you just had to hide to survive. That was what Holloway liked about Leo, people who lose their temper easily are very easy to control which Holloway took complete advantage of.
Before he left is office, Holloway ordered Leo to make the Fat Man and Pascoe talk in any way possible. Holloway had lost all sympathy for Fat Andy 20 years ago when he sent him to prison from drug smugling. He had already got his contacts to track down these parts and have them sent to the Peppermint Stingray so that he can stop any officers from finding him. He was also getting close to being able to control Wetherton CID staff thanks to the Claw. With no one seeing Holloway, it was being made easier.
What he lacked was the codes to gain complete control of Wetherton CID and it was this that Fat Andy was so reluctant to reveal. He was doing this as Wetherton CID could very easily be modified into a powerful weapon. Holloway could not do anything with Wetherton CID if he did not have those codes and he had big plans for them.
The Claw stood outside of Holloway's office listening to Leo and Dalziel shouting at each other and sighed. Why did people have to be so stubborn? He knew Holloway had had many people try to defend themselves against him because he wanted things from them, money usually. It always ended up in failure on their part, Holloway always succeeded eventually.
Suddenly there was a huge BANG! It caught Holloway completely off guard. The electric lighting flickered and then failed plunging him and everyone else at the Peppermint Stingray into darkness.
He could hear screams and yells of alarm, fear and pain coming from the direction of the control room. Leo had somehow managed to find his way into the corridor where Holloway and the Claw stood and immediately crashed into him in the confusion knocking them all to the floor.
"Get off me, you two." hissed Holloway in pain.
Leo had inadvertently kicked the Claw in the shin in the struggle to untangle them. The Claw and Leo both finally got free then helped Holloway up.
“What’s happening, Boss? Do you think we are being attacked?” Captain Anders asked sounding annoyed, he would much rather be in the thick of it than standing around in the pitch black of the corridor that he now found himself in.
“Captain, get to the control room; find out what is going on. This is indeed an attack.” replied the Candy Man.
“Boss, I suggest you get yourself to safe-,” started Captain Anders.
“I need that code from Roger first.” growled the Candy Man cutting Captain Anders off.
“Okay, Boss but I'd be quick if I were you, I'll hold off whoever it is as long as possible.”
With that Captain Anders was off, stopping briefly to grab a weapon from the appropriate room further along the hall.
The Candy Man meanwhile wasted no time and immediately allowed himself into Roger’s room. He couldn’t see the state Roger was in but he knew he was still conscious by the comment that was thrown at him as he entered.
“You’re finally getting what you deserve,” Roger yelled at him in anger. “I hope you rot in hell.”
The Candy Man was relieved to see that Roger was angry; this would make getting the code easier. He used his powers and Roger almost immediately gave him the code.
“Thank you and goodbye, Roger.” the Candy Man said as he left Roger to the devices of whoever had dared to attack him. The Hood made his way to the secret passageway which would lead him to safety, promising himself that whoever had attacked him would pay, no matter what.
