If you go in there and ask for just a COFFEE they will say-"do you want a donut too?

If you go in there and ask for a Bagel or Donut they will say-"want anything to drink?

Damm, why all this agressioon? they are trying to get every buck they can I see. Does this happen in other cities?

Don't know how aggressive they're being but it's called suggestive selling. Hardees is very bad for doing that, Whenever I pull up to their drive-thru the first thing they ask is would you like to try our new (insert burger name here)?

I personally find this very annoying, When I go to Hardees or any other fast-food place I almost always know what I want when I get there. If I want a drink or fries with that, I'll let them know.

i hate that too. i already know what i want when i get to most places. most people already have something in mind when they go to these places. anytime i try something new is when they advertise it on tv. best buy is very aggressive with their warranties. they go onto to tell you every possible defect that might occur with the product then i end up saying "oh, really? sounds like its poorly made. guess i won't buy it." then they get no sale and i'll just buy it offline or somewhere non-aggressive. i used to work there for like a month and the manager told me to literally call the customer an idiot if they didn't choose the warranty. needless to say i didn't stay long after that.

I have learned to get used to that. These restaurants are pushing specials most of the time. It is a requirment for the most part for the employees to say it. It struck me as odd first. Sometimes when asked if I want something in addition, I would want to ask, "well, is that free?" or "are you gonna pay for it?" LOL.

Well Sol, the Amoco/BP convenient stores were adamant about it. It was almost like a hustle. The one near my college campus in Orlando was really big about doing that. I'd be like, "no, but thank you anyway".

I get very ANGRY when someone is trying to DIRECTLY get more more out of my wallet espeically isnce the economy is so shaky right now. I always hated that, even when co-workers approach me about buying cabdy from their daughter who is selling something at her school. It really bothers me

Maybe that is one reason why some business find it even more appropriate to get more since the economy is shaky. LOL at the last comment about the duagher/coworker/school thing.

i think its due to the chemicals they put in the donuts.

next time they say that to you Solomon don't get mad - instead just politely say, "No thank you, but could I interest you in a Life Insurance policy?"

In their defense, most of the places I've worked force you to ask things like that. If you don't, you'll get fired. I hated asking, but I needed to keep my job, that's probably what these employees are having to do too, so give 'em a break. They're just trying to earn a living like everyone else.

Yeah, they call them Add-On Sales. I always HATED having to do it, but a lot of businesses require it.
