Backup Ladell Betts is out for a month. Shaun Alexander will probably be used for a couple of carries, that's all. I don't think he will be with us that long. He only signed a 1-year deal. He he only on the team right now because he knows coach Zorn from Seattle.

littlebelle knows more about Shaun Alexander than us- Remember, he was a stud for eight years in Seattle.

I'm sure she remembers the day when he killed defenses on the field.

That guy has problems lol. The way he kept sayin, C'mon Seattle and his gap teeth and the way he smiles- he looks like a child molestor to be honest. Ok move by Washington

I liked the guy.

I had him on my Fantast Football team in his record-breaking 2005 season- he was a BEAST!

I'm sure littlebelle would love to tell us the tales of Alexander when he truly was great from 2001-2006.

^Gladly!

In '01, against the raiders, he rushed for a franchise record 266 yards on 35 carries. He led the NFL in rushing touchdowns with 14 and was tied for second w/ Owens with 16 total touchdowns.

Alexander basically became the key component of our offense. In '04 (I think) he finished second in the NFL in rushing yards with 1,696 to the Jet's Curtis Martin by a single yard. That's also around the same he had beef with Holmgren, but I wont get into that.

2005 was definitely the best. He had a 88 yard TD run against the Cards and rushing for 165 yards against the Rams. During the 05 season he broke the franchise record for the most rushing yards in the Hawks history, he also became the first running back in NFL history to record 15 or more touchdowns in five straight seasons. He also won the MVP award that year I believe.

In the '06 Packer game, he set the single season touchdown record at 28, and tied Holmes's record of 27 rushing touchdowns in a season.

Those are just some highlights off the top of my head, but you get the point. He's damn good, broke records, won titles and if you ask any person that's not familiar with football to name one player on the Seahawks, I'm sure they would have said "Alexander?".

What happened to him? Why did he fall so fast? Did he get injured? One minute he's great and the next, he's out of football.

I remember when I was in college at Miami University, I watched the late night news every Friday night, and during the high school football highlights he was a fixture. He lived in northern Kentucky (I watched a Cincinnati station). I couldn't understand why Seattle let him go. You'd think the Seahawks would keep him since he was so good.

How come Pittsburgh released Davenport during the summer. I know he is back now, but I thought he did a good job the last few years. He's made some good plays.

 He's about the only player I can name, too!

Yeah, that made no sense at all! Unless he begged to be a free agent. He was definitely a legend among Seahawks!

I bet after one game of getting HIT shaun will feel like Troy "ACHEMAN" at the end of the day-lol
:rotflmao: I've never heard Troy called that before! That's about right, though! He was forever getting concussions! I felt bad for him when he had to retire because he was my favorite player, but I think it was for the best.
