I read on a web site; u.s. news that another child (3 yrs. old) has died due to shooting himself in the head with a gun + they found other weapons in that home. When will people learn that when they have young children in the home; not to leave weapons especially loaded guns lying around?

There was a middle schooler in my area who accidentally shot himself recently. It's a shame.

Thank god my familt NEVER has guns.
This happened early Monday morning in Midwest City, Oklahoma, a suburb of
Oklahoma City. The district attorney's office has said they may be pressing
charges in this case. I hope so, to me this is just pure negligence of the worst
kind.

for heaven's sake, if you insist on having a gun in the house, get it out of arms reach for a child. Children are small, it's not that hard to put it away from where a little kid could reach it (personally, I think they should have it out of eyes reach as well). It's very irresponsible for parents to do this.
What a sad thing to have happen. A girl I went to school with was babysitting a little boy and her husband kept a pistol in the cabinet above their refrigerator. The little boy climbed up on top of the cabinets looking for cookies & found the gun & it went off & killed him. This was back in the 1980's. They never dreamed he'd climb up there & find it. So no matter where you hide it, a child can find it.

 reading about things like this make me so mad. it's such a terrible tragedy but if you're going to have weapons of any kind around...keep them OUT of the child's reach. keep them in a safe...far, far away from the child.
