For the last year or so Love Of Life was on the air, it was moved from its long-time air slot of 11:30am Eastern time to 4:00pm Eastern, a time block which wasn't cleared by CBS affiliates in many portions of the nation. That created a loss of viewers the program could never recover from.
Interesting note: The move of Love Of Life to 4pm meant an expansion from 25 minutes to 30 minutes, as the network ran The CBS Midday News with Douglas Edwards from 11:55am to 12noon each weekday.
Also: It premiered three weeks after Search For Tomorrow began its 35-year run.
And: Announcer Ken Roberts was next heard as the announcer for Texas on NBC.

I vaugly remember Love of Life. My mother used to watch that show.

Christopher Reeve was on it for a few years and played Ben who was this bigamist who went to prison. This was before Superman

I did see an episode of Love of Life on YouTube not too long ago. I think this particular episode aired in the mid or late '70s. It was pretty interesting!!

Sad, that most if not all the episodes are practically gone/swiped. I remember really getting hooked on it after the time slot switch--came on right after Guiding Light.

I would've liked to see more of the show. Besides Christopher Reeve, some heavy hitters like Bonnie Bedelia, Barbara Barrie, Warren Beatty and Dana Delany appeared on Love of Life.

Don't remember this show (as it went off the air before I was born), but I think it's a shame that the videos to most of these long-gone soaps have been lost forever. Very sad! :(

There are some 1953-1955 episodes up over at YouTube. Once upon a time, there was this AMAZING episode from 1975 up, featuring Tudi Wiggins going to town as Meg. She was just fricken awesome in it.

I'm seriously considering creating a site that serves as a directory for all soapy stuff on YouTube. You can find some really good stuff if you look for it. I found some clips of "Search for Tomorrow" from when the character Eunice died in 1976. Not full episodes, but very lengthy clips. Morgan Fairchild is in them, as her character (Jennifer) is Eunice's murderer. Also, search the HamiltonBernique channel over there. Tons (literally, tons) of OLTL and AMC episodes from 1983-1985. Many consecutive AMC episodes.

^ I think you should create a site like that, JT. I'd go there!! Recently, I saw some awesome vintage episodes of Another World featuring Victoria Wyndham as Rachel and Jacqueline Courtney as Alice (having a nervous breakdown!) circa 1972.
