Eh, not to be "Debbie Downer" but after seeing the website, I'm not expecting much. I'm eager to see what it's all about but I know it won't be the same. Luckily I'm working from home this week, so I'll be able to catch it. It looks like it's coming on during all weeknights.

Maybe I missed this information somewhere along the way, but does anyone know if I'll be able to watch new episodes online anywhere? I don't have cable anymore.

I'm looking forward to it. It won't be the same without Robert Stack but I'm still watching.

I'm excited about tommorow. It won't be the same without Robert Stack but I'm willing to give Dennis Farina a chance and maybe there will updates or more info on the old cases.

Well, I have musical practice at the theater so thanks for reminding me to set the VCR.

I'm on vacation out of state but I'll probably still tune in. I know it is not going to be the same obviously, but it seems like they might be showing some of the older, rarer stories and that is always a good thing.

Yes I read in a few articles that you should be able to watch them on www.spike.com.

I'm not looking forward to it. They should not have changed the theme music & I think it is crap that they chopped up the episodes to fit more in a hour show. I know I will not like the new UM & if I do I will be very surprised. I dont see that happening tho.

I totally agree, though it's better than no UM at all I guess.

Spike TV is one of the free channels available on the tvu player http://www.tvunetworks.com/

However you should note that sometimes certain channels are not available.

I think it would be great if the series was picked up by another network and they began showing the old NBC/Lifetime versions. I'm sure they would be edited regardless, but at least Stack and the original theme would be intact.

In retrospect, what Lifetime did with UM wasn't so bad. There were some Lifetime episodes that while slightly edited, more or less matched what was shown on NBC.

I think these Spike versions are just going to be a mess editing-wise.

They aren't even promoting the show! If you go to Spike's website, you have to click through a bunch of stuff to hunt for it. Only we know that they have their own site up and revised because we're into this stuff, but your average viewer probably has heard nothing about the show unless they watch Spike on a routine basis and have seen a brief commercial or 2.

You cannot attract viewers if you do not promote your programs. This is common sense and Marketing 101. I just don't see it going very far because of the lack of promotion. You'd think it'd be the main focus on their website, but it's not.

I am interested to hear any updates from the old cases, but you can't expect many tips from viewers if they don't know the show exists. When UM was on NBC, it was always promoted during commercials stating "next week on UM....". Even when the season premiers came out, they were promoted. NBC and the larger networks are good about promoting a new series, but Spike is focused on their other programming obviously.

Then it is up to us to promote it. SpikeTV.com has to have areas where viewers can post. We need to get the word out regarding nuUM. For all of us that have Facebook and MySpace, spread the word!
