View Full Version : Britney! Britney! Britney!: New music video, "Womanizer" SBTB Geek 10-10-2008, 11:02 PM http://www.mtv.com/overdrive/?vid=288244 Vow to the woman who was officially brought back the art of the music video! HuntingtonM15 10-10-2008, 11:21 PM It's really nice to finally see Britney back and committed to her work. platinumblondelife 10-11-2008, 02:44 AM YES. SBTB Geek 10-11-2008, 04:42 AM The sauna and car scenes are just jaw dropping. Superstar 10-11-2008, 02:11 PM She looks smoking. Good to have her back :) MusicJunkie 10-12-2008, 04:00 AM the guy in the video is insanely hot. I don't understand why she didn't just add a new track or two and reissue Blackout. You can't compare Blackout with Glitter or American Life or 20 Y.O. as a flop (three heavily promoted albums that critics and fans were generally mixed on... Blackout received her best critical reviews ever)... Blackout flopped because Britney was bad news last year and people stayed away from it because of the image at the time, plus the only promotion she did for the actual album was a VMA performance that almost ruined her career. She should've done what P!nk did with I'm Not Dead and just come back to it a year later. I mean, P!nk's album sold about 350k by the end of 2006 but she didn't give up on the album and she ended up with two top 10 hits over a year after it's original release. Britney should've done the same with Blackout instead of just conceding and letting it become a flop in her catalog when she could've relaunched it and gone on tour and given it some real promotion and it would've picked up IMO. I mean, it's a year old but Rihanna's album is about five months older and she's still promoting that. SBTB Geek 10-12-2008, 12:26 PM ^I agree. A re-release of "Gimme More" with a new video, followed up by "Freakshow" or "Get Naked" would have been perfect. No need for bonus tracks. But for some reason I think Blackout's sales are going to improve anyhow. After the VMA's the album jumped back on the Billboard 200, and I'm sure sales are going to spike again after the release of Circus and the upcoming award show season. I wonder if Britney just really hates Blackout because of the memories that go with the era and this is why she wants to wipe the slate clean. We'll see if she completely ignores the album on her next tour. MusicJunkie 10-13-2008, 03:40 PM I think the video is very well-done, especially considering the fact that Gimme More was one of the most lackluster videos I've ever seen by a big-name artist, but I can't help but notice a bit of a similarity with an old Olivia Newton-John video. http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=T7r_-Nrrs7o MusicJunkie 10-14-2008, 08:21 PM yayayay!!! LOL. Well, it is kinda nice to get someone hot on our side considering usually it's the sexually neutral types like Clay and Lance that really aren't "hot" who come out. http://pinkisthenewblog.com/home/2008/10/lance-bass-has-history-with-the-womanizer-guy/ SBTB Geek 10-14-2008, 10:05 PM I think the video is very well-done, especially considering the fact that Gimme More was one of the most lackluster videos I've ever seen by a big-name artist, but I can't help but notice a bit of a similarity with an old Olivia Newton-John video. http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=T7r_-Nrrs7o I find myself enjoying that video more and more as time passes. It fits the song. |
