The wait is over for Guns N' Roses fans— the group's long-awaited Chinese Democracy album will be released on November 23. The album will be released on that Sunday as an exclusive for electronics chain Best Buy and is expected to charge to the top of the chart released on December 1, due to eligibility deadlines.

One of the new album's tracks, "Shackler's Revenge," debuted in the video game Rock Band 2, while another tune, "If the World" will play over the end credits of the new Leonardo DiCaprio/Russell Crowe film Body of Lies.

The album release could prove costly for bosses of soda giant Dr. Pepper, who offered to send a free can of drink to everyone in America if Chinese Democracy hit stores during 2008 at the beginning of the year.

Blogger Kevin Cogill was arrested on suspicion of violating federal copyright laws by leaking tracks from the much-anticipated new album on his website Antiquiet.com in June, and the album tracks were quickly removed.

Guns N' Roses, led by Axl Rose, started working on the near-mythical album over a decade ago.

I'm beginning to think that by the time this actually comes out, China may actually BE a democracy.

I agree. I never liked Axl and the fact that there's nobody else in the band now who were in the old G 'N R, well, sorry, but I just don't care anymore.

It looks like Dollar Tree has acquired Best Buy's remaining stock of Chinese Democracy. I stopped at 2 locations today and both stores had plenty of them.

they are probably going to have to pay people to cart them away....

i agree that Axl is not GNR - and i was never the biggest fan, but they definitely had something special with Slash, Duff, and Izzy.

I thought about getting a few to resell on eBay but after seeing that nobody was that desperate I abandoned the idea.

I think the consensus is it wasn't very good but there are some people on the metal sludge boards who think there are some songs that could've been "huge hits".

I didn't hear that though.
