I've been watching the first season DVDs some lately and in the bonus features there's almost nothing on Doyle. Angel and Cordelia both get their own featurette. You'd think Doyle would get one too, especially since he's only in the first season. And when they're reviewing the season, they skip right over Doyle's final episode. That was a big one and it should have been mentioned. Instead they mention how in the 10th episode there was an opportunity to bring someone back and so they chose Wesley.

I could be wrong, but I'm thinking there wasn't a featurette on Doyle because he was only in 9 episodes. And in those 9 episodes, aside from his death to save that race of demons (and then passing the visions to Cordy), he didn't really do much. I enjoyed Doyle though. He was a fun character.

Maybe he didn't need a whole featurette to himself. They could have done a Doyle/Wesley featurette. Talking first about Doyle and then (obviously) about Wesley. They could have at least mentioned him when they were doing the Season One in Review featurette. But like I say, they skipped right over "Hero" and started talking about Wesley joining the show.

I mean Doyle was only in nine episodes, but for those nine episodes he was Angel's best friend. Not to mention the guy who got Angel to work for The Powers That Be, which lead to Angel meeting up with Cordelia and forming Angel Investigations.

I'm pretty sure Glenn Quinn was still alive when the interviews were being done for the season one DVDs, so he could have come in and said a little something about his time on the show.
