View Full Version : Your Saddest Syndication Moment so far in the year of 2008?
TVFactFan 10-07-2008, 12:51 PM I will defintely have to say ION removing Alice back in March which was disappointing after watching Alice every night at 7pm and 7:30pm became a Rountine.
I would say Diffrent Strokes but it was never on at a nice time which always involved me having to set the time.
Anyone else have a Disappointing Syndication Moment of 2008 so far?
Scoobiedoo30 10-07-2008, 12:55 PM My Saddest Syndication Moent is When WVUE-TV Took Benson off The Schedule in the Summer of 1989 and The Summer was on the only Time I could watch Benson at 10:35 pm.
friendsfan77 10-07-2008, 03:11 PM I agree completely about Alice being removed. I hated the horrible edits but it was nice seeing the show for the first time.
Jude The Obscure 10-07-2008, 07:41 PM Yea, the treatment of Alice by ION definitely bites the big one--considering Mama's Family got countless cycles.
My disappointment so far is not having any station in my area play "Trivial Pursuit: America Plays"
robyrob 10-07-2008, 07:51 PM when both TVLand and WGN took Happy Days away from me.

Haopy Days was on TV Land in 2008?

Same here. Also, my saddest syndication moment this year (which isn't saying too much) is "Merv Griffin's Crosswords" getting cancelled.

That was back when WVUE 8 was the ABC station in New Orleans

oz615 10-07-2008, 09:29 PM When That 70's Show,Scrubs and The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air airing on 4 (in some cases 5) different station (sometimes simultaneously)
MrRetro_08 10-08-2008, 09:08 AM I watched Taxi on Paramount 2 every day at either 12pm or 4pm. On Monday they've took it off and replaced it with another show. It was nearly into the final season, so I'm annoyed
Jude The Obscure 10-08-2008, 09:14 AM Paramount 2? what's that?

It's a channel in the UK
Anything that SOAPnet's done through the year, mostly putting "Dallas" in an ******* timeslot (3am) and then subsequently removing both "Dallas" and "Melrose Place." And replacing them with nothing.

Wow. I knew about Dallas being gone but I didn't know they took off Melrose Place too. I was hoping to check that out sometime. That network is such a disappointment now. It's promoting itself as this celebrity/style garbage where the actual soaps play second fiddle.
If they remove Ryan's Hope I am so done with them.
They know better, I think. RH fans stormed them when they dropped it down to airing only one day a week, so removing it will definitely get the fanbase humming. It's ridiculous that RH doesn't even air in a somewhat decent timeslot. They just treat the show like utter ****.
And don't even get me started on the removal of the weekend "All My Children" marathon. Just as the show gets good again!
megamanj2004 10-13-2008, 04:18 PM The way Me-TV dogged Silver Spoons, of all shows this year.
It was on the regular Me-TV channel in 2007 on weekends and then they only got through S1 of that show, then can it earlier this year and send it off to Me-TV's sister channel Me-Too, air it on weekends with the same S1 eps. already reran and that got canned this fall from Me-Too as well.
Alice's treatment on ION was far wose! Ditto! The second time ION aired it, they screwed over the closing credits along with even more bogus editing.
ION's treatment of Perfect Strangers (if it aired in '08) also gets nods as well.
