Wow, I know certain places in some areas offer them for free. CVS and Walgreens to name a couple. Fortunately, my insurance covers mine.

Probably. Active Duty military and their dependants (aka me) get them for free so my dad makes a big deal out of it and makes me.

no i have a very strong immune system. i was stuck in a house one time for a week with my grandfather and father who both had the flu, picking up their tissues and caring for them etc. and didn't even get a sniffle. i also worked at st. francis hospital for a year touching every wheelchair from the e.r. as well as everything else patients had access to and again never once got sick. knock on wood and hope i'm not jinxing myself but i never ever get sick. the most i ever get is a head cold that lasts 24 hrs. the last time i had the flu was 7th grade so i'm not that concerned.

Absolutely. There is no reason not to unless you are one of the relative few allergic to eggs.

In the interests of stomping out any FUD that inevitably goes around each year, it should again be noted again that 1) The Flu Shot does not and cannot cause the flu. & 2) The Flu Shot does not contain the mercury-based preservative thimerosal that many worry about.

Nope. It's made from last year's strain, so a lot of good it will do if a different strain comes out. I'll suffer through my sinus infections and strep instead. Plus, like Phoebe said, last time I did, I was sicker.

I'm definately getting one for free through Kaiser. I like getting them because I skip the worst part of a cold.

I chose No because everytime I get it every year I alway's end up sick all winter and it is hard to get rid of it so I am not even gonna bother getting the flu shot.............

As far as i know, i have a strong immune system too, so i feel no need to get a flu shot. Plus i have heard that a lot of people get sick after getting the shot, so i think i will pass. it's suppose to help you, not make you sick.

Well, not the Walgreens in my area.

And I'm one of those people caught between a rock and a hard place--can't afford insurance, yet can't qualify for public health aid.

Thank God for that $4 prescription program or I would really be up in a creek with my meds.

I received my flu shot on Monday, as I didn't want to risk getting sick this flu season.

OH Nuts!

I got mine today at Kroger's. The cost was $28.00--last time I got it I think I paid only $20.
