Ok I am going to start something new segment wise. I see a lot of us give our thoughts on the week in football- Solomon, me, MrIggles/Mike, Sonny, Garfieldkool & now FSU and littlebelle. This is basically branching off, but with all your thoughts, opinions and what you think of events, deaths, games, stats etc. w/e of the week. We will do this each week around Sundays/Mondays, starting the new week. You can also make up or post headlines and whatever else you wish- links, photos etc. Here are my headlines of the week:

1. AFC/NFC East divisions are looking good. Giants, Dallas, Washington, Patriots, Buffalo and even Miami

2. The LA Angels looking so bad the last 8/9 games against the Red Sox. They have had their number, in the playoffs- Boston has.

3. NHL season is starting back up- over in EUROPE again for the start lol
4. Is it me or is this the year of the young quarterbacks doing great/ getting better? Jason Campbell, Matt Cassell is looking good, Trent Edwards etc.

Consider this the all around sports thread...I will post more later, post whatever you wish.

Good start.

My thoughts on your stories.

1. No weak links in those divisions you mentioned- that's the surprising part, given how awful the Jets and Dolphins were last year.

As for bad divisions, I think the NFC North is a bit of a mess- the NFC West gets a lot of bad press, but it does have stud players in Frank Gore, Boldin, Fitzgerald, Hasslebeck, Kurt Warner. The NFC North, OTOH, has a few good running backs and recievers- the QB's have some learning to do, or in Kitna's case, try and stay upright.

2. That reminds me of when the Cowboys AND the Packers boith owned the 49ers at different times in the 1990s.

3. Unlike last year, at least the NHL-Europe games are in countries that know what hockey and the NHL is.

4. The young guns are pretty good- too bad Edwards got a concussion.

Here are my headlines:

1. Cardinals are staring to prove that they are no longer a punchline; the Lions, OTOH, are the new Cardinals.

2. Tampa Bay Rays are this year's Rockies- nobody had them doing much at the start of the year, and look where they are now.

3. The worst jobs in America- Washington Nationals manager, Detroit Lions QB

4. Will the Wildcat formation become mandatory by 2013?

Sage Rosenfels needs to be fired

The Brewers are a minor league team

The Niners QB should be benched for throwing the ball out of bounds on 4th down

If any team should be deserving of such a mocking moniker, it's the Washington Nationals.

The Nats absolutely STINK!!!!!

Solomon, I'm watching the Eagles-Dallas '88 week before Christmas game I bought from you lol. FSU, nice headlines. I'm surprised at how much patience Manny Acta, manager of the Nationals has, being the coach of that team lol but I agree with everything you said.

Opinion: What if Buddy Ryan and Tom Landry coached in the NFL this year/last couple of years? Would be interesting.

The Flyers haven't been a thorn in my A$$ in a long time so they are the Philly Team I least worry about

They only made it to the Conference finals last year lol but ok. you don't watch hockey so it gives you an excuse not to watch them, to see if they lose.
