Well it looks as if the sales of the first two volumes has been pretty decent. But were they not good enough to get a full Season 2 set instead of another volume set?

I used to watch The Love Boat when it first came on the air in 1977. This show debuted right around the time the quality of TV shows started going slowly downhill. The Love Boat aired on ABC which was the most popular network at the time, this has always puzzled me because ABC was airing a lot of rotten shows during the late 70's. But I have mostly fond memories of The Love Boat, at least the early seasons. Lauren Tewes was really cute the first couple seasons when she had the short, straight hair style. She wasn't that cute anymore after she went with the full, fluffy hair style. One episode I remember well is Julie Falls Hard, she really goes for a single guy who has some older kids. At the episode end a teary eyed Julie watches the guy walk off and a serious faced Captain Steubing looks on from behind. Very powerful episode.

I have to think it over if I want the DVD's, a little bit of Love Boat goes a long way. It's basically a glamorized version of Love American Style, many guest stars and set on a fancy cruise ship. When The Love Boat gained popularity after it went on the air, everyone wanted to go on a cruise. It became the thing to do in the 80's, the cruise industry really took off at that point. I've always been one who wants to keep my feet on the ground. If I would go on a cruise, I'd worry if I was going to pick up an illness or parasite due to unsanitary conditions and I would also be concerned that the ship may be attacked by pirates or start taking on water and become another Titanic. So no thanks, no cruises for me. Same thing goes for airplanes. When your on a plane or cruise ship, once the thing is in motion and you don't like it, you're stuck. You can't tell them stop this thing I want to get off. LOL

I hate that CBS DVD is choosing to keep splitting this series into "volumes".
