View Full Version : Alice on DVD...Entire 9 seasons?
karlab 10-06-2008, 02:31 PM I looked up "Alice" on www.imdb.com and I noticed that a website called www.tvdvdmania.com is claiming they have all 202 uncut episodes of Alice...9 seasons, 19 DVDS for $69.50. Has anyone ordered from them before? Am I missing something here? Is this just someone who videotaped the episodes from TV and they aren't very good quality? Does anyone know anything about this company? If this is true...I'll faint!!!! Happy early Christmas to me!
Jude The Obscure 10-08-2008, 09:32 AM Bootlegs, pure and simple. There has never been an official release other than the 6 episode "Best of Alice". I wouldn't trust this company. Now, if you are truly interested in getting a bootleg release, perhaps going to ioffer.com might get you some better, more trustworthy results. But as always, buyer beware.

I know if I had the entire season in my possesion, i would be charging a lot more than $70.00-lol
Especially the way the economy is right nowm it would be more like $169.50-lol

I ordered "Malcolm in the Middle" & they were copied from Fox. Most of the discs wouldn't even play at all!!

That's exactly why no one should never buy a complete series that is bootlegg-lol That's ASKING for problems
robyrob 10-08-2008, 08:08 PM a lot of those "companies" are just outright scam artists that can't wait to get their hands on your credit card info.
buyer beware.
Dayvidpriddy 03-20-2009, 12:12 PM I actually purchased this set from that website a few weeks ago and it's not a scam! The quality of the DVD's (DVD+R's) are actually between VHS and DVD quality (NOT HD quality though!)
Not sure if I'm allowed to offer this but I would sell copied sets at 50 bucks per set if anyone is interested? The shows are definitely recorded from some cable show I'm going to assume TNN but there is no logo on any of the shows so I'm not sure how they were recorded but they are definitely from TV recording.
I realize I'm new here but I can be verified on PayPal and have a 100 percent feedback rating on ebay. At least if you paid by PayPal you would be protected!:D Anyways just a thought, I'm in need of some money these days and since it's not copyrighted, what laws would I breaking?
Dayvidpriddy 03-20-2009, 12:22 PM You know I just checked out ioffer.com and WOW...they have the entire set for way less then the other site does...14.99! There is feedback left regarding the DVD's as well from buyers. I wonder what the quality is like compared to where I got them from? 14.99? That's a steal!

Just a little selling Tip, Your Product Loses it's APPEAL when you as a Seller utter statements like this
"I"M IN NEED OF MONEY"
Nobody is interested in buying something from someone who NEEDS money

Uh really? Not sure about you but that's why most of work, because we "NEED" money! Sounds like you have been burnt, might wanna step back and chill out instead of attacking someone when you know nothing about them. I said my rep could be verified with PayPal/eBay...go ahead, check out my ID on eBay...100 percent baby!
I'll withdrawl my offer since someones panties seem to be in a knot...

You missed my point, I'm saying that as a SELLER, you need to tell me why buying these eps will be beneficial to me.
Not, purchase these eps because I NEED MONEY. I;m sure the sellers on ebay need money but we don't know for sure and that's how it should be because if not the product you are selling loses it;s APPEAL
comedyfreak 03-25-2009, 05:58 AM iOffer probably has Alice on dvd, I would tend to trust them more since I've dealt with them before.
Jude The Obscure 04-03-2009, 07:42 PM And officially, it will probably take Warner to do a MOD service to finally get Alice out there by seasons.

Although the DVD's you bought may not be copyrighted the content of the DVD's (The Alice episodes) is copyrighted and if you make copy's and sell them you will be breaking the law. At least if you wind up in jail you won't "need money" anymore. Your shelter and all your meals will be provided to you!
peachysquirt21 05-29-2009, 08:26 AM DO NOT BUY ANY ALICE SETS OFF IOFFER! I recently purchased the series off there & paid under 29.00. The person who was selling it claimed the set was a 8/10 quality. Boy was I in for a surprise. The quality is more like a 7. There are freezes & glitches throught the set. Some episodes have the picture mess up, there are some episodes that green spots pop up & the list goes on. As for that 14.99 price, that is still available but I would not buy that set. I am betting it is not a very good set. Down the road there might be a nice set available on there but currently there is not.
I read somewhere that if the TV Favorites compilation DVD of Alice sells many copies, than the entire 9 seasons will be released.
Although, I'm not very confident cause Alice would be an unknown sitcom to many people.
JAlanRuss72 02-01-2010, 05:53 PM I got a set from ioffer several years ago (19 discs), it wasn't bad- obviously recorded from TNN- the quality was probably a 6-7 (like what you would get from an older vhs tape but no real problems). I'm pretty sure it wasn't "complete", but most of the eps were there which is what I wanted. At the time I didn't think I'd ever see "Alice" on television ever again, which was the main reason I got them (and since I neglected to tape them the last time they were on).
Jude The Obscure 03-15-2010, 11:37 PM Warner has clearly stated it has no intention to releasing Alice by seasons. Hopefully one day they will license out the show to Shout! or MPI.
Dayvidpriddy 10-28-2010, 05:53 PM I guess all of you will be sitting back wishing then for the rest of your lives while I sit back and continue to enjoy 13 DVD's of nothing but Alice!:) If it was against the law to sell them, all of these TV's shows that people have privately recorded would have been removed from the website a long time ago...they are STILL selling the same thing to this day online!
Don't say I told you so!
Rambo Stallone 11-13-2010, 07:06 AM HA HA your funny but yeah most of those guys do a dodgy job squeezing like 10 episodes on 1 disc.I guess it would be good if someone did it the correct way and not compressed it so much.It would be good too see shows you know that won't get a release only. This show like several others will never get released and if they do only a couple of seasons or less.
OOliver 11-13-2010, 04:30 PM I'm surprised SHOUT has not released ALICE on DVD yet. Maybe they will move on to ALICE once RHODA is done (they have one short season to go with RHODA).
