In the episode when Carl wanted the TV, and Harriette wanted the refrigerator, and he told her he was the breadwinner so there should be no arguement. Later on Carl is all sucking up to her big time going on and on about what a good cook she is etc. I was like please, he was just doing that hoping Harriette would forget what he said without having to apologize. Carl was trying to be slick and it didn't work..lol.

Well, it had to end that way. Carl and Harriette always make up at the end of the episode.

Umm ok, I was not talking about the end of the episode. I was talking about after Carl said he was the breadwinner of the house and therefore what he says goes as far as purchases. Later on in the episode he was sucking up to Harriette hoping she will forget what he said without apologizing to her directly. However, it did not work because she started charging him for her services.

Hmm yeah, Carl was unusually rude and disrespectful to Harriette in this episode. No wonder that she got angry with him. Because she worked and provided money for the household just as much as he did, even if her salary was lower than his. And even if she hadn't worked and made money, he still shouldn't have said that, because a man should respect his wife more than that. Carl wasn't very sympathetic in this episode.
