View Full Version : Fashion Trends That Shouldn't Be Resurrected
Purffin 10-04-2008, 11:12 PM Whats a fashion trend you think should never come back into fashion?
TO start off i say acid wash jeans, i hope those don't ever re-surface. I am sure alot of us owned a pair but would you ever wear them again?
Brian Damage 10-04-2008, 11:27 PM The ever embarrassing Polyester suit. LOL
Purffin 10-04-2008, 11:40 PM I have never seen this look and i hope its not real, it is truly horrifying:rotflmao:

Hollow 10-05-2008, 12:12 AM the whole "punk/goth" clothes trend from about five years ago, only because there was so much griping about it and i had random people calling me a "poser" just because i was wearing stuff that had come into style. i still dress the same and i'm glad that trend has seemed to go away, god was that ever annoying.
as far as trends i want to stay dead because i don't like them, none. i prefer that hideous things stay in style because i enjoy making fun of what's popular.
dawsongirl 10-05-2008, 01:30 AM The 80's...Enough said!
LOL...I was going to say the 70's.

PZelda 10-05-2008, 02:05 AM I like 1970s styles... *duck*
**** the 70s and 80s for bad fashion... How about the 90s? A lot of the styles popular then are still popular today. Blargh.
Karen64 10-05-2008, 10:01 AM The ever embarrassing Polyester suit. LOL

TripperFan 10-05-2008, 10:15 AM Doc Marten boots - especially with skirts - that's still a WTF Moment In Fashion!
And I hated to see check and plaid pants and especially shorts back in. Who the hell wants to look like a dad from the early 60s?????
Some of the 80s stuff was fun, but thank God those ripped net shirts have gone.....everyone looked like they crawled out of a lake and got caught in a fishing net!

MusicJunkie 10-05-2008, 03:11 PM mullets... how can anyone find those attractive? In the 70's (well, who wore them in the 70's besides David Bowie, and Ziggy Stardust was meant to be an alien, LOL) and 80's, nobody knew better.... now they do. I always want to get scissors out whenever I see someone who still wears a mullet in the 2000's.

Karen64 10-07-2008, 09:50 PM This trend isn't dead yet, but I am so sick and tired of seeing it! Baggy pants themselves don't really bug me; it's the waist of the pants sitting below the buttcheeks! That can't be comfortable; walking around having to hold your pants up all day!

Yeah, I don't mind if they hang down a little, but that is too extreme. Why even wear pants? :mooner:
What about the backasswords trend..

I used to also hate black socks in shorts... but I have to admit James Lafferty on One Tree Hill has changed my mind a bit, at least an exception for him since he always has black socks on in the basketball scenes

Why do they even bother wearing pants?? Plus, I think that should be an indecency violation of some sort. I couldn't go out with my pants down to my thighs.
PunkyP0WER 10-08-2008, 06:30 AM windbreaker suits! i hated the noise they made when people walked in them, they were so in at one time. a trend that i think should be resurrected...guys wearing suits and ties for everything. like in the 40's and 50's! i guess i just love men in suits.

Agreed. Nothing beats a 3-piece suit.

oh, I am totally different. I hate suits and ties unless it's for a mandatory occasion (wedding, funeral, something like that), give me a guy in jeans or sweats or a muscle-shirt over a guy in a suit any day
Fleet 10-09-2008, 12:19 AM LOL...I was going to say the 70's.
Just as bad. But I don't think the '70s had purple or orange hair "styles."

Haha YES. I used to do that all the time as a kid - whoops. :o In all fairness, though, nobody told me not to do that. I know better now tho. And these days, I LOVE being barefoot - so if I can wear some type of open-toed shoe as long as there's no snow on the ground, I'm all for it. I'm still wearing sandals when I'm not at work, and the highs these days are just barely hitting 65. Love it!
Oh, and that guy is committing another faux pas in that pic - pants with too-short sleeves. According to Stacy London and Clinton Kelly of "What Not to Wear," pant sleeves need to be at least 1/2" from the floor.
And thanks to everybody who commented on my pics - at least I know I'm still in style and not committing a fashion faux pas.
PZelda 10-09-2008, 02:34 PM Is that connected? Very unattractive. At least its not thong underwear.
Yep it actually is. I think they came out with that when I was in high school (My high school years were '99 to '03, so somewhere in there - probably from '02). It was sometime around there that they started designing extra-low-rise panties.
D-Dey 10-11-2008, 08:51 PM The 80's...Enough said!
Certainly that portion of the '80's was revolting. If there was one thing that I hated from the '80's it was purple lipstick. I swear I avoided dating altogether when that became the in look. Not that I had that much of a chance of dating in the first place.
MonarC 10-12-2008, 02:14 PM Sweaters with short shorts and leg warmers?
