Thankfully, I've only had to spend one night in a hospital and they had me on a clear diet, so the only thing I was able to have was chicken broth & green jello so....you draw your own conclusions!!!:D

I've actually eaten in the cafeteria at the hospital and really it wasn't too bad!! Not a first choice of "eating establishments", but OK if you're there & hungry!!

I use to work in a hospital and sometimes I would eat in the cafeteria. The food wasn't too bad but definitely nothing to write home about.

It sucks, when I had my daughters I made my husband bring me food from home or a restaurant.

I never really had to stay in the hospital so I have not had much experience
with hospital food but I ate a couple of times in the caferteria of Montgomery
General Hospital when we visited my great grandmother in early 1995 before
she died. The food there was actually pretty good compared to what I have
heard about hospital food.

I'm the same way, I would not touch even a piece of fruit. Hospital food smells funny to me, or maybe it's just the thought that it's hospital food LOL

Never had to eat it, but it doesn't look too good. But then neither does school food.

I guess it all depents on the cook at the hospital. From my experience the food was not bad but not great either.

i worked at a hospital and for the most part it was very good. its not supposed to be gourmet. most people complain because it is bland but they forget that the same food is being served to patients at the hospital who have certain dietary needs and restrictions and the food is made bland purposely. the hospital does not have the money or time in their budget to make separate meals for the patrons of the cafeteria. most foods prepared don't have the added sugar/salt and other seasonings for added flavor, they only use what is necessary for the actual recipe and anything extra can be found with the other condiments at a condiment station. come to think about it. Home Town Buffets' food is similar in taste to hospital food as they also make it very bland and leave it up to the patrons to add their own flavoring.

Some of the food isn't too bad. It just depends on what you get.

I've been admitted to the psychiatric part of the hospital on many occasions, and I've always thought the food was very good. Not sure how different the psych wards menu is from the regular hospital, but I've never had any complaints about the food they served.
