View Full Version : Just wondering..... Prince 10-03-2008, 08:27 PM where everyone is??? Nothing's been posted for quite a while. Hope everyone is well.:) :) :) Cheryl Harrell 10-03-2008, 11:38 PM I too noticed the deafening silence & hope all is well with everyone. I imagine Suzanne is busy with her move & Luckymama with Freddie. Oops, I meant to say teach school & I said Freddie lol. After yrs of no high speed internet around here, they finally got it on our road awhile back. I have no idea how long it's been here but I know I had been checking every so often & it had never been around here. We found out about it from the preacher at the Pentecostal church down the road. We'll we recently ordered the high speed dsl & it got enacted the other day. I am so smoking on here. Before on dialup internet, sites would be so slow loading up even on my moms Windows XP laptop & YouTube videos took an hr to load up stopping & sputtering. So maybe I can write on here more often cuz I won't have to wait 10 yrs for the site to load up lol... hue_mee 10-04-2008, 10:08 AM Well my move went well, I have been on the computer thoughout the days here, applying for some kind of work. I do think of all of you daily, but with all my job searching I neglect to post anything here. I am in the midst of waiting for a few things to get sent to me so I can officially call myself a Floridian. I am not too stressed out about the job issue as I know something will turn up. I do on occasion visit the freddie sites and see all the pictures, articles and videos to bring me in a happy state of being. I have thought again about writing since I have all this free time from not working. I will have to write it in an email and send it to myself and not keep it on file on my dad's computer, he would not understand what that was all about. LOL. Thanks for checking up on me! Cheryl Harrell 10-05-2008, 06:09 AM Good luck with the job search. More prayers just said for ya... :) Prince 10-05-2008, 08:38 AM Congrats Cheryl on getting DSL...it is so much faster than dial up. Suz, So glad you're considering writing again. Good luck with the job hunting. Karen64 10-05-2008, 10:39 AM I'm still here! I usually get the computor for just a few minutes here or there; otherwise hubby or the kids hog it all day! Cheryl Harrell 10-05-2008, 09:38 PM Thanks! Maybe you need to get a 2n computer lol. So you can get online. My hubby has no idea how to use a computer so mine is all mine lol... MariposaLKB 10-06-2008, 07:17 AM I am not here much cuz I had to seriously re-prioritize my entire life after my husband lost his job about a year and a half ago. Sept 2008 marked a year since he was hired as a temp by the firm that eventually hired him permanently (at a very substantial pay cut). We are still terrified that in this economy things could go south any moment. Add to that the fact that we have an older child intending to go to college early and elderly parents who either need our help or can't help us as much as they used to.... Good luck with the job search, Suz--as you can see, I can relate to your current situation at least on that level! Cheryl, I envy you the DSL! We don't live that far out in the sticks LOL but there is nothing available that we can afford.... And oh yeah, I already had one kid hogging the computer and now the younger one is old enough to do the same LOL! Anyway...glad everyone seems to be doing well! Cheryl Harrell 10-06-2008, 09:00 AM Glad you're doing okay. So sorry to hear about your hubby. Glad he got a job. Hopefully he can get a better paying one. I thought of you when we went to visit Mikes sisters family in Columbus. Some of the cable companies have up there where you can get cable internet plus cable tv at a deal. YOu might want to look & see if they have deals on that around there. Mikes late sister ordered that deal so she could get her grandson high speed internet as well as cable tv... MariposaLKB 10-06-2008, 09:46 AM Thanx Cheryl! I am familiar with that type of service, my hubby's brother and both his parents have it--they all live within the city limits here. However, we can't have cable out here either. We have satellite for the TV, but their internet service isn't available here yet, and all the DSLs we have looked into are unavailable in this area and/or toooo expensive for the intial installation and the monthly charge! Karen64 10-20-2008, 09:39 PM I can't believe I have some time on the computor tonite! I wanted to stop by the CATM board to check things out! Hope you all are doing well! Cheryl Harrell 10-21-2008, 02:59 AM Hope you all are doing well. We are. Around Columbus day weekend we went on our annual trip to that reunion int he hillbilly area of KY Mike is from. Had a nice time. I even saw a CATM dvd in a store in a hillbilly area of WV or KY.. :) MariposaLKB 10-21-2008, 08:05 AM Cheryl, we really don't do anything on Columbus Day cuz my kids don't have that day off. The reason for that is cuz they DO have 4 days off (last Weds through yesterday) for our local "harvest festival". My older daughter was in almost all the parades with her high school marching band and the other band the school sponsors that dresses funny and dances around while playing. She couldn't dance cuz of the pain in her right leg--everyone plz pray about that, she had an MRI that showed swelling of the bone marrow! Instead, she rode on the "Gator" that usually carries the mallet percussion for the marching band and was some character or other, depending on the nature of the parade. For example in the baby parade she had a huge baby bottle and pacifier ROTFL! She did march with the marching band and also participated in the street concert they do. In addition she played guitar in a main stage concert with her teacher and his other students, on the songs "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds" (her part was amped through a "special effects" thing that made it sound really trippy LOL!) and Eric Clapton's "Crossroads" (on which she was one of 4 people who soloed). My younger daughter and I were there almost everyday and my hubby came when he could. We all (including the older one's boyfriend who came down from college in Columbus) worked lunchtime Sat in the food booth that earns our church's youth group the bulk of their money for the year. Sooo....I am STILL EXHAUSTED right now LOL! Cheryl Harrell 10-21-2008, 03:53 PM Sounds like a busy time. Prayers jsut said for your daughter... MariposaLKB 10-21-2008, 06:46 PM Thanx mucho, Cheryl! One piece of good news: I found out this afternoon that our insurance paid almost entirely for her MRI--we will not owe anything, thank God! Cheryl Harrell 10-22-2008, 08:15 AM That's good to hear. Hope things go better for ya'll... hue_mee 10-22-2008, 11:25 AM I've been thinking about you Mariposa, I am glad that it was able to be taken care of Joy 11-16-2008, 04:47 PM Hi friends! Mariposa i'm so sorry to hear about the economic struggles, I think it's good to reconnect here we can take our minds of stress and think about handsome Freddie if only for a little while been busy getting my life back on track since my mom passed away. My dad is very lonesome and my younger brother is taking her death harder than anyone thought but i think of and pray for my online friends even if i forget to post:eek: Cheryl Harrell 11-17-2008, 09:57 AM Prayers just said for you all.
