When I watch episodes from the final season, I cannot help but notice a lack of energy and imagination in some of the shows. David has said that the show lingered a season or two too long. He also implored his father to try to send a message to the viewer with each episode. Ozzie replied: If they want a message, let them call Western Union. Do you feel Ozzie was burnt out during the final season?

I think they ALL were probably burned out. David was in his 30's and I'm sure he wanted to go out and make his own life without being tied to the show. Ricky's music had to take a lot of time and energy, plus doing the show, I really don't know how they did it all.

And weren't they in a different studio during that last season?

Yes, the studio was different for the last season filmed in color.

I for one don't really notice any difference in the acting or script quality but season 14 is precious to me because of it being filmed in color. Anytime I watch a season 14 episode I sit in amazement and enjoyment to see the Nelson family in glorious mid 60's vivid color!

There were some very good eps from this season like Trip Trap, A Rose A Day, The Tangled Web...honestly I don't think there was ever a bad season - however, I was never really taken with the first 2 seasons - but that's just a personal taste - there is one ep though from early on that I liked very much called Ozzie's Night Out.

Re the color, I could take it or leave it esp. since it wasn't very good often back then. The B & W eps were just as lovely to me.

I didn't know that The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet has any colour episodes produced. The final episode of the series had Ozzie buying a pool table and remodelling the house. Is that series finale material? No.

Actually at the time the "Game Room"episode was filmed, it was not known that O&H would not be back for a 15th season.

I don't notice a difference in their enthusasum in the 14th season. I like all the seasons but the 14th is special because it is the last and only in color.

By the end of the series Ozzie and Harriet do both look so much older than when the show had started. Well they were, 14 years older. lol But it started they seemed so young and vibrant. Parents to two young boys. Harriet's voice changed a lot most likely due to smoking. By 1966 they looked like grandparents, which they were.

Wasn't Ozzie ill at times while doing the last few seasons but it was kept secret, or was that in the couple years after?

Ozzie's had a tumor removed from his colon in the late 1960's, after the show was cancelled but his health really started to deteriorate in the early 1970's.
