View Full Version : Cubs Fans are Weird and Pathetic-LOL, The Dodgers are up 10-3 in the bottom of the
TVFactFan 10-03-2008, 12:38 AM 9th Inning, no outs, 1 man on 2nd base and the crowd is actually thinking they have a chance to comback-lol
I mean how pathetic is that? THE GAME IS OVER!!!!!!!!!!!_LOL
If the Cubs were to come back from this I would put my money on them to win the World Series-lol
Brian Damage 10-03-2008, 12:49 AM They aren't called the loveable losers for nothing. ;)

Even when it was 10-3 and 1 out with two men on base, if that guy hits a homer the score was still going to be 10-6-lol
No team is coming back from a 10-1 deficit in a playoff game in the bottom of the ninth-lol
Wreckless 10-03-2008, 01:42 AM Yeah, I'm not worried about the fans right now. Even if that is borderline cuckoo, If I'm a Cubs fan or player, I'm worried about being down to a team that only had 2 wins, and you had the best record in the NL, second in the Majors this year and you're a win away from being swept out in the first round.
Big C 10-03-2008, 10:17 AM you're a win away from being swept out in the first round.
And to the freaking Dodgers, whom I thought were the weakest team to make the postseason.
Wreckless 10-03-2008, 12:11 PM ^ Yeah. Like I said, Teams with so few wins shouldn't be allowed in the postseason. The Florida Marlins had more wins then the Dodgers, and they were in 3rd place, compared to 1st. The Toronto Blue Jays had more wins then the Dodgers, and they were in 4th place. 4th place and they had more wins then a division leader, ridiculous. Courtesy to Dodgers fans for sticking with your team and them doing good in the playoffs so far, but they shouldn't be here. They climbed their way to the top and beat out Arizona, yes, but 84 wins is not impressive.
Dusty's Fan 10-03-2008, 12:28 PM Yes, the NL West was very weak this year.
However, I might add that it's probably bad news for Phils and Brewers fans that LA is (likely) going to the NLCS instead of Chicago. Given that the Cubs have not made it to the WS since 1945, I think Phila and Milw both had better chances to claim the NL crown if the Cubs were the NLCS opponent! :)
Wreckless 10-03-2008, 12:47 PM Good to see your opinion but see, I think we match up well against LA lol but that's just me. Even if the Dodgers get to the world series, in my mind they don't deserve to be their, because they never should of been their.
Dusty's Fan 10-03-2008, 12:54 PM I know what you mean. And it doesn't seem fair. I'm reminded of the 1988 Dodgers who pulled a big surprise, going all the way. But there's nothing we can do about it.
If it's Phil-LA or Milw-LA, I hope to see the Phillies or Brewers represent the NL in the WS.
Wreckless 10-03-2008, 12:56 PM ^ Thank you and yes I agree, sometimes things are the way they are and they aren't at all fair lol. I just hope we continue to have some great baseball. I love being able to watch AL games now that we're in the playoffs, and that I can still route for my team and they're in.

I usually don't agree with some of the things you say,
but I agree with you here.
If the Bills were down by four touchdowns with 5 minutes left, I wouldn't consider a comeback in the books.
Wreckless 10-03-2008, 01:08 PM I think it's just the Cubs fan wanting to have hope. When hope is present, fans think the imagineable and anything can happen.
kooky12 10-03-2008, 01:34 PM The Cubs pulled it off earlier this year, so why not again:

Wreckless 10-03-2008, 01:36 PM Yup, Phils did it as well. Came down from a 7-0 deficit.

no team is losing a 7-0 in a playoff game
Mr. Television 10-03-2008, 08:20 PM Remember last year how the Rockies made the WS and people were doubting them. I see the same thing in the Dodgers. It doesn't matter what their record is as long as they are playing great baseball at the right time.

you got that right-lol just ask the giants of 2007 and the ravens of 2000-lol
Wreckless 10-03-2008, 08:55 PM Yeah but the Giants were 10-6. that's a .625 winning percentage to get in, the dodgers had a .518 winning percentage coming into the playoffs. yes it does matter if you play well in the playoffs, cause you could win a championship, but I still stand by my point. if they win, it will be good for them and it will matter, but it shouldn't of happened at all.
Wreckless 10-03-2008, 08:57 PM no team is losing a 7-0 in a playoff game
I know. I'm saying it has been proven that teams can come back. with that being said, I don't think that large of a decifit is going to happen at all or a lot in this year's playoffs.

I am a Huge Cubs Fan....Have been all my life...and I was cheering and hoping that they would comeback....hey as a cubs fan I never give up hope for a win...I bleed cubby blue and am ready to cheer ever louder next year...GO CUBS!!!!:)
Wreckless 10-06-2008, 12:10 AM Yeah I guess you can never give up, even if it looks silly lol, it doesn't look or sound silly to the fan(s) that are cheering for their team to come back from a big deficit. Anyways, Cubs had a great season nevertheless.

What great season? They FAILED-lol
Wreckless 10-06-2008, 12:18 AM They still had the best record in the NL lol. A lot of times not winning a WS is equivalent to failure and no success, but 29 other teams failed then lol. Doesn't mean you didn't have a good season. They won more games, then the Phils, Mets, Milwaukee & Dodgers.

I knew they were frauds which is why I'm glad they are not playing the Phillies

Yep, one thing is for certain... I have never seen a fan base so loyal to their team as I have the Cubs. I went to a game in 1987, and I remember they didn't have a good record that year (correct me if I'm wrong-that was a LONG time ago! ;) ) but it was amazing how many fans showed up at the game!
I have to say that calling Cubs fans "weird and pathetic" is rather harsh. The Mariners have never even been to the Series, but yet the fans keep coming back year after year. So does that make me a pathetic loser too?
Andrea

If the lead was 5-3 then yes it would be alright to stay but at 10-3 in the bottom of the 9th, they had no shot
Wreckless 10-06-2008, 12:49 AM The odds of coming back 10-3 in a playoff game in which you are down in the series already are probably 100/1 at least lol, but I don't know for sure. It has been done before in a MLB game I know, a team has won from being down 7 runs already.

a 2 run lead is HUGE in the bottom of the 9th in a playoff game so you know a 7 run lead is BIG-lol
Wreckless 10-06-2008, 12:55 AM ya deff. lol
tonight was a great angels-red sox game. looking ahead to tomorrow night's game as well, and with no school interfearing either lol.
