I was watching the Mary Tyler Moore Show bloopers on youtube the other day, and on part 2, there's a scene where Mary, Lou, and Murray are all staring out the window while the "Hallelujah" chorus is sung. Does anyone know what episode this is?

Some Googling tells me that's Season 7, Episode 5 (Ep. 149 overall), "Ted's Change of Heart"
Ted suffers a heart attack on the air and for the next few days becomes conscious of how precious life is. (This is the only episode where we see the editing room, supposedly at the left of the stage)
I believe that was where Mary, Lou, and Murray watch the sunset. Anybody who actually has that episode can either confirm or deny.
But I'm not sure that the "Hallelujah Chorus" played during the actual episode, it might have been just on the bloopers. I'd also be curious about that, anybody who has the ep!

Yep, that's the episode in question. I'm not sure about the music thing. It's been awhile since I've seen that ep, but I know there was some music playing. I might just have to dig out one of my old N@N tapes now to find out! My answer must be with the qualification that the season 7 I have is from a 2005 airing on TV Land Canada and other episodes contain replacement music. I have seen this episode a few times since its original airing and don't remember "Hallelujah Chorus" type music playing, but I could be mistaken.

I watched it tonight and the "Hallelujah Chorus" does not play on my copy. The only music that plays is at the end. Ted is heard beginning the news while Mary, Lou and Murray are watching the sunset. Lou turns the TV off and they continue to watch; the camera shot changes so we see them through the window and closing melancholy MTM type music plays as the episode ends.

Yeah, I think it was more regular music.
I think maybe they were just having some fun with Hallelujah Chorus on the blooper reel.

Now I have to dig up my dvds and find that episode and watch it again.
It is one of the special episodes.
